Weird- GDA and ECNL do not interchange players
However know quite a few players who are training with DA but are rostered on the second team at the club that plays in the FPL-NPL.

What age group? Some older age groups may be having trouble recruiting if most on the squad are already committed .

The older ones committed are the ones who would be tempted to move to GDA-To Develop for college playing time and a pro career. -to not get injured playing high school.

H/S was not mentioned in the previous comment. Some of the girls who are committed on 00 or 99 teams at our club are staying put for the most part because their coaches are telling them just to stay fit, study hard, not get injured and not get in trouble (keep G rated on social media).

How do they expect to get off the bench in college?

That would be a question for the college coach I suppose but a senior moving from ECNL to gDA when they may not even play the entire season before they go to college is asking a lot. My kid is an 01 and most of her team is moving over to gDA. That is why the age question was brought up.
All that being said, depending on the program; sitting on the bench the first year may not even be an option depending on the coach's view of freshman making an impact on his/her team.

The best players will play in GDA or in college whether they are a freshman or a senior. 01's are juniors and sophomores. On a GDA 01/02 team, the 01 are on the older side and might play more but not guaranteed. At Some clubs the elite players have no choice but DA or a second tier type team. Boca, Weston, WFF , Clay, and IMG only have DA or a low level team option.

The points are not mutually exclusive as it depends what club, what coaches and what age or relative distance of clubs for a family to make that decision. You are probably correct in some instances but not in all. You know what is happening at your club and I know what is happening at mine.

Coaches know they will have to scout many top leagues.
