*So next year, not including anyone coming to the DA from other clubs, you have 24 players to choose a roster, from the start for the 18/19 team.
01's - 8 (from a team that are still in the playoff race)
02's - Entire team to choose from.
*There many O1's from other clubs that are fantastic soccer players that are coming to the club, along with some very good players that did not make the 15/16 team this year. This should be the best team the Chargers have ever had.
If both older teams next year are not in the playoffs, then I will agree with your statement about having highly talented players and not good coaching. This was a down year since both older teams had a large number of 01's and 99's. The current 15/16 team was not expected to make the playoffs this year and their inexperience did show through in the end with 4 ties in the last 4 games. Each game they dominated, but either bad refereeing and late mental breakdowns cost them. The club though will never be as deep of a club as Atlanta United, OCYS, Weston and CASL. Having said that, both teams should be very good next year. Something else to think about going forward is how the partnership with OCYS is going to affect the club. Will the best players be offered to be part of the coming residential Academy at Lake Nona. Basically becoming a feeder club to OC.

Obviously enormous clubs like Weston, CASL, OC and Atlanta will expect to make the playoffs every year and they should, they attract many more players than the Chargers do. Weston and CASL are about 4 times the size of the Chargers club with about 3 x's the population to draw from. The Chargers will have good years and bad years with the DA. Judging by the talent level from the U12's through to the 18/19 team, next year, they should have some very good years coming up. Every age group next year should be very competitive. They have the best collection of talent, by far, in the Tampa bay area, at every age group.

Hhh
OC is going downhill , they better get wise and pick the best instead putting blame, stop playing the politics and pick the true best players.

What a stupid post this is. Don't you understand that there are very good soccer players all over and kids that live all over the southeastern united states are not going to move to Orlando, Atlanta or any other MLS academy. You are talking about very populated areas where soccer is becoming more and more populated with excellent coaches being drawn to the non MLS DA's. It will not always be easy for an MLS academy to reach the playoffs. So, 1 team from any particular year, not making the playoffs, does not quantify the strength of an academy. I think it signifies how popular and strong soccer is becoming all over the SouthEast US. The pool of very good to great players, and coaching, is expanding.
