It's sad really, clubs like fsa or any other for that matter would see the benefits in long term with some sort of scholarship program,,, better players,, better results,, then everyone wants to be on team that wins,,

One of the best players on our team is poor as dirt, drives a rusty old minivan but somehow they make it work. Wonder how many other kids out there that will never get the chance because of finances.

On the girls side they need more talent but with ECNL the last few years theres' been heavy favoritism for FSA players, not outsiders. If they won't take outsiders where the need it most, what's the likelihood they do it where they need it least? WUP parents houldn't get too excited about this one
What about an infusion of new coaches? If the coaches knew how to coach and corrected players instead of letting them continue to do the same thing that doesn't work, maybe there would be a different outcome.

Plenty. More than we'll ever know. A kid good enough to make NT or pro some day will probably be discovered and given a scholarship somewhere, even if not FSA. But there are plenty of players out there with college level potential that will never get the development and exposure needed to reach it. Playing HS soccer is no longer a path. Club soccer is a middle to upper income sport and until we start moving the dial on that nothing will change.

That old saying: the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting a different result.

That's FSA with the same old S+ coaches and S+ kids.

Who says FSA doesn't offer scholarships? I'm sure they don't advertise scholarships, but I'd be surprised if every kid is paying full freight. Especially if they are in the top 5. If you can afford it, you'll pay. If you can't, more likely than not, they'll find a way to keep the talent.

FSA is a business, not a charity. They don't care if they miss out on some stud because the stud can't afford tuition. Everybody pays full price. Sux to be the poor kid.

You sound really dooshey. Remember that some of the greatest soccer players that your kid probably idolizes came from humble beginnings. A lot of big clubs offer scholarships it's not unheard of. You think you have the upper hand because you're wealthy but your kid probably sucks azz.

S+ kids are pretty much all gone after this year so what will be FSA's excuse next year.

Crappy S+ coaches with the same crappy S+ approach to babysitting.

I don't disagree that there are some great soccer players who come from humble and poor beginnings. Look at the North Africans and Argentinians in European leagues. All that said, FSA isn't about supporting any of that. It's a business. Period. The good news is that, because FSA is a business, FSA will be around a long time and be able to provide quality training to those able to afford it. While other clubs will rise and fall, suffer money issues, and provide uneven training due to lack of money and resources, FSA will be able to provide top-quality A and B licensed college coaches because it's a business. We don't mind--it really doesn't affect FSA--if the talented and poor kids go somewhere else.
