Thats great for the college coaches to get contact info for their ID Camps, but what about the clubs that will pay to go and pay high cost for hotels why not tell them who is going to be at the tournament I would say its pretty easy to list the teams if you have any, again look at the other two tournaments promoting their tournament and still attracting a lot of older teams... The Weston tournament is horrible. It is rigged so Weston teams have the easiest path to the finals. The fields and referees are extremely poor. The top teams are no longer participating in it because of these reasons. One more thing for older ages - there is not one college coach ever at the Weston tournament. Let me open with two things... 1) This not a sales pitch and I don't care where you go to play your tournaments. 2) The tournaments you play in can be dependent upon your gender, age group, and competition level. That said...
I did a little research inspired by what some of you have already offered up.
Coaches listed to attend
- FC Cup - 50+ (23 are Div I or II)
- Weston - 18 (6 are Div I or II)
- OC Invite - Don't see any listed. I'm sure this is just an oversight
* There are five coaches that FC and Weston have in common *
Applied teams
- FC Cup - no full list that I can find
- Weston - 12 in my kid's age group
- OC - 14 in my kid's age group
* At each Weston and OC, half the applied teams are ranked outside the top 60, with a handful outside the top 100. *
* Weston has seven teams that we have either played recently or will play soon. *
*** Using the stay and play hotel locations there are no rooms left within 40 miles of the playing fields at FC Cup. <Sounds pretty busy> ***
It may be new and somewhat unknown but it sure seems to be doing just fine.Comment

On another thread FCF said they were pulling out of The Mayor's Cup Showcase in Las Vegas due to "disappointing competition", instead they entered this showcase.

Does this get exposure for FCF players to different college coaches from Disney? I see a LOT of overlap with Disney. I am not even sure why they choose to come see this level of competition.
There is another reason FCF pulled out of Vegas. The Mayor's Cup is the West Coast version of the Disney Showcase, it is big. Maybe FCF's top players were unavailable for a top level tournament (like last weekend)?Comment

Who cares if a scrub team from Illinois or New York comes down to Florida in the dead of winter? If the SoCal or Texas teams were any good they would go to Vegas for better exposure and lower travel cost/time.
I wouldn't call teams from 4 states in this age group "a lot".Comment
