It is a done deal, at the attorneys office currently.
Public announcement scheduled for next week.

Working out details now. Looks like combined DA will be at old Fusion fields

So if the rumor is true, TBU will have the red and yellow uniforms? Not sure how this merger benefits TBU, but whatever works. Doesn't affect me.

If it is true, it'll be a year or so before this club then merges with WFF to have ECNL and DA.

That would be so you can take all of Celtic " competitive" teams and form a rec league

yes, that is what i heard also...and they are planning to ditch the McDonald unis and go with the green and white to acquiesce to Celtic's dominance and superior soccer acumen.

Celtic would merge with any club that asked them they are so desperate financially and need an upgrade in trainers. It won't be the Chargers, Celtic offers nothing to the Chargers in a merger, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Chargers do eventually looks at a merger with a club in the Largo-St. Pete area, but it definitely won't be Celtic.

A senior club official told me that the DA will remain at the Clearwater fields. I think that's a mistake, as it needs to moved to a more central location, exposing the program to many more players.

                    ecnl

if it's true, could the new organization knock down the barriers that would allow another ecnl club into the area?

That is the problem with WFF's ECNL. Training is not centrally located and it keeps the best players from wanting to play or drive to Brandon.

This is not True. Brandon draws players for ECNL from Lakeland and a few from Orlando. On an East West axis moving fields to a Tampa location makes it more difficult to travel from the West and likewise they draw a good number of players from Bradenton and further South. On a north/South access moving the location to Tampa would also make travel for the players that come from the South more difficult.

WFF is the destination club in Tampa not going to happen. They should look to a partnership with WFF doesn't need to be a merger.

Quite Simply the answer is no. First, ECNL is already at the maximum number of clubs. They will not grow any larger not because they do not want to but because of logistics. Logistically, there are not enough large locations in the country that can hold the number of clubs necessary to pull off the showcase events. Thus, in order to add clubs in the future they will have to remove them. If they do remove them, Tampa will not receive two clubs(if they even do consider adding another Florida club). Jacksonville area or South Florida area would first be considered. Like it or not, ECNL in Tampa runs thru WFF.
