^^^ Just amazing how these threads get spun out of control. Go review the posts- starting from 102 which seems to have caused all the debate.

Nobody referred to State Cup as "dangerous"- except a poster trying to be sarcastic. A couple people commented that their players were taking a break from the SC routine to prepare for college through alternative means. They immediately got jumped and criticized by others who accused the kids of getting fat while sitting on the couch all Summer.

That's true. But the other poster claimed someone had posted that a College Coach had said SC is dangerous. NOBODY POSTED ANY SUCH THING. Stupid nonsense posted by stupid people for no reason other than to prolong fake debate over nothing.

The same Space Coast team that could only muster up a tie with Port Orange last weekend? But I am sure it was just after/ before prom or some other excuse this year. It is always something with this Space Coast team come Spring of the year!

All kidding aside, I think the Rd of 16 draw is the most important element of this year's U18G State Cup. There is no dominate team as there has been in year's past for this age group. With a good draw, any of these 16 teams could be in the Final 8 and not surprise anyone. I do think OC, TBU, and Weston Black are all the strongest of the bunch, but TBU could possibly play either of those two teams in their next game! On the other hand, that Tsunami team may draw a weak Celtic team and move on to the Final 8.

Does anyone know when the draw will take place?

Seems to me like the guy did not post what is best for your kid he is posting his knowledge through experience. Like the GPA of 3.0, and D1 schools.

All very good comments.I will add that if your player is approached by a FIFA affiliated scout/agent and is offered a pro try out anywhere in the world you should take it.
The NCAA will threaten to take your NCAA elegability.Tell the NCAA to stick it where the son don't shine.If you will lose your residency status by leaving the US for a pro try out then take that risk.The money you will pay an immigration attorney if you fail pro will be less than college fees.
If you have not been approached by any pro scout or agent by U15 then accept that you are only playing for fun and concentrate on your academics.
