And to be crystal clear about something else....D3 players get just as much out of their experience as D1 players, and many enjoy the experience even more. Hardly any D3 players spend a second after their careers are over wishing they could have or did play D1.
Same could be said about most high school players. No matter how you slice it, that's just a one off from that at the D3 level. The money at the D1 level is the difference maker in most D1 athlete's minds cause they know that coming out of college with little to no debt is the real win and that playing a game like soccer to make that happen is pretty cool.

Yet most men won't get much of anything. Sure $8-$10K helps, it all helps. But many kids will still graduate with plenty of debt. That's a cold slap for many parents as their kids start the process. They've been told their kid has D1 potential so they think their college bills will be tiny. $8K off of $50k still leaves a big bill to pay each year. Money is much better on the women's side, but 50% seems to be the ceiling for all but the super stars.

Good grades+ good test scores = much better chance to graduate without debt no matter what division you play in

Most soccer D1 athletes aren't motivated by $$$ in the least. And many of them wouldn't have to worry about debt either. I can guarantee you that women on the real WNT weren't motivated at age 13, 14, 15, 16 by scholarship money. That's not why they play.

Now let's guess how much D3 players care about what BTNT thinks of them.

The truth comes out . It not about soccer it about status. If it was about soccer these stupid D3 threads wouldn't pop up every 3 months .

Let it go dad, your kid is good but not good enough to brag to your country club friends . They probably listen to you out of respect but they know the real deal .

Gross exaggeration but even so you are admitting quite a few D1 calibre players playing D3 which of course is the truth. You just don't see that at all in basketball or football. Why? Men's soccer carries only 9.9 scholarship players versus the rare walkon. So you have D3 programs potentially offering better academics, financial support and playing time vs. bench plus foolish D1 bragging rights that ultimately lead nowhere.

Shows just how little the D3 crowd knows. Average scholarship on the girls side is 30-40 thousand. Can change the whole picture for the whole family not just the one player.

But men's soccer programs are only getting the lesser athletes who don't make any of the 4 major men's sports which is a big reason why the men's soccer in this country sux so bad.

Thanks, BTNT. What are you doing on a D3 thread?? Does that speak volumes?

Gonna start those games again Fred? Is that because D3's are all your players are getting to these days? A far cry from the old days of the UCLA, Yale etc etc brag days.

Don't think FM is a real expert on elite colleges, so you are really miser the mark there.

How come you don't want to answer why you are trolling on a D3 thread, or did you start this one too just so you get off on putting others down some more?

Speaking of D3, did your kid have a very rewarding D3 soccer experience?

Hockey? Very little money in hockey. Contending with international players as well. The very top players get some money, most don't. Less than 1%.

If you're not getting offers by your freshman year, forget your Hockey East aspirations. The Canadians and Eastern Europeans will beat you to it.

Look at the Div 3 programs in MA: MIT, Amherst, Tufts, Brandeis. Right. D3 for everything but soccer is low level. D3 Soccer is almost D1 level. Got it.

Keep on repeating it, it makes the lie more believable.

Keep saying your D1 bench warmer is so superior to players who actually play. If you look at the better MA DAP players from Revs and Bolts it's clear quite a few talented players chose D3. That is inexplicable in your fantasy world.

Maybe you are that BTFT loon ranting about girls soccer? Could care less which is also what all but about 100 students who attend matches at you kids Div 1 school think.

Sorry your boy couldn't play a major sport. He plays a fringe sport and not that well apparently. Keep lying to yourself.
