There are costs still even when the tournament is cancelled. Who should eat that?

The club. Cost of doing business. Take out an insurance policy.

Difference is GPS is a money machine, exploiting young coaches and organizing crap tournaments. If the choice is between eating the costs themselves alienating participating clubs of course GPS will choose the money grab, that's who they are. Any club that signs up for GPS events deserves what they got.

Here is your answer. This is about bashing GPS and is probably someone associated with the Breakers (which routinely screw up their tournament) or some small mom and pop club that can't keep pace with the real clubs.

Newss, WAGS, Jefferson have all had tournaments impacted because of weather and as memory serves me none of them refunded 100%.

Well.....this is where the legal part of each club should, in fact, be more involved...but before you sign the contract. If the contract read just what you got and you signed it they buyer beware and think twice before next years tournament.

Sponsoring bodies can take out insurance to help refund clubs for cancelled tournaments. This is best for all as it at least makes whole the cancelled teams and makes the sponsoring body look better by refunding 100% (or close to it).

Otherwise, if the contract read 'x' then that is what you get. By the way, too bad for clubs entering tournaments in late November in New England.

There were 2 BU15 groups (Super & Elite). They should have had the top groups (1 of ea) from the boys and girls. Seems that would be the equitable thing to do.

Boys who can't play real sports play soccer. Sorry your son lacks the courage, size, athleticism or masculinity to play a real sport. Seems like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. For boys, soccer is a fringe sport. For girls, it is the prime sport.

Just Heard GPS will only refund half to 75 percent to teams who didn't play this weekend. Thanks GPS, you will be hearing from my lawyer

The email sent to teams was those that are not playing get a refund or they can apply the funds to next year. No scam, no issues...GPS did the right thing!
