Also, who cares about where a team is at U12? Worry about how you kid is developing.
But this is the only achievement of his (although strictly speaking his son's), let him enjoy it.

All the teams you mention and many other academy clubs do not chase the points. 8v8 age specific academy teams occasionally will acquire points but are not driven to try and get attention like you.

Many of the best academy teams have played 11v11 since u11, not "occasionally". Pateadores won Copa last year, Solar 61-2-6, Chicago Fire 28-3-2, PDA 26-1-2, Orlando 51-5-6, etc.

The highly ranked but much weaker non-DAP teams such as AZ Arsenal (0-4 last year) don't show up because they know they can't compete. No scooping up easy GS points against second rate competition here.

Not about "chasing points" but competition, a chance for the top u12 teams in the US to play against each other. You seem really annoyed that this tournament is happening. Why? :)

This is going to be a great experience for the kids. Very cool to compete at the very highest level.

It's clear of your contempt for NEFC. It would be best to say Arsenal wasn't invited, right?

You might be right, maybe they just weren't invited. After all, Arsenal AZ has only won 55 percent of their games.

Fancy list of teams you put there... but hasn't it already been covered that in group play V is playing two teams with no gotsoccer history at all?

OOOh, but what about the other teams in the top 20? They chase points or only us?

Doesn't that mean they are 'academy'?

What people from Massachusetts and apparently from other parts of the country dislike so much of Valeo U12 and U13 teams is the repeated claims of being the best in the land. You don't even see many of the best teams and players in your age group.

The chasing points issue is so silly. If Valeo was focused on GS points instead of playing strong competition we would have stayed home and won Needham instead playing EDP cup. Competition is a key component of development. A lot of travel yeh, but glad boys will end up playing a couple dozen strong teams in 2014-15. The bar was set high, parents who are satisfied with a much softer schedule, well that's your choice.

People like you invoke GS only when it's convenient. The TN team is not highly rated, but made it to the Gold round last year. Look up Albion and Chicago Magic, maybe you have never heard of them, anyone who knows soccer certainly has. Why are you so annoyed that a team from MA can play with these teams? It really comes down to jealousy, doesn't it?

Nice format other tourneys should adopt.

Not a TSvaleo fan - however, tournaments seed a mixture of teams in each group stage. They do not want top dogs canceling each other out in the first round. That would be disadvantageous to the teams and the tournament.

The supercopa is a really cool format where the seeded 1,2,3 and 4 get to play together first, then the top 1,2 then the top contenders.

As someone mentioned in a post, The bronze, e.g. lowest level - still get a final while so do the silver and gold highly likely with matching competition.

Nice format other tourneys should adopt closer to home.

It does seem like a great format. All teams play 4 games, half 5 games, a quarter 6, and all 24 teams have a chance to win the whole thing. Organizers also seem to have done good job of seeding first round brackets.
