No, because you blabber on and on about the Empires of the world, who are kicked out for next year, and disregard your own ECNL warts.

All leagues have bad teams. At least GDA kicks the shlt ones out.

Same to be said for ECNL....

They kicked ONE sh*t one out and simply added added other ones a hair better than that; Alby may actually be as bad as Empire but at least it's closer. Yes they all have bad teams but GDA is supposed to be the best of the best. It isn't.

All players on the roster got showcased regardless of score because the wins didn’t take priority, the commitments do
If the FSA game against that VA team had ten coaches I'd be surprised. CFC playing Hawks? Yeah, 50+. But really what matters is if the coaches your player reached out to came to watch her AND they express interest after seeing her play. Coaches aren't window shopping at these events.

They probably did with most coaches from mid Atlantic region to watch kids on the VA roster that contacted them.

CFC 17 gets big crowds because they are squared off against Top 10 teams all weekend. There were 35 + kids committed to D1 schools in each of those games. Those coaches without a doubt all go watch the kids they recruited.

While it’s nice to have UVA, Duke and UCLA at your games they aren’t scouting uncommitted juniors. The better measure is how many mid majors, D2 and D3 schools attend those games.

My daughter isn’t on a great team and still had 50 coaches on Saturday with several being schools she and teammates reached out to. Does it actually work against some of these kids playing in these tough games. Many players can’t handle the pace and would struggle to showcase themselves

Looking at the results, there's plenty of crap teams in ECNL.

                  Glass houses....

ECNL doesn't claim the to be the best league with strict rules that are rarely enforced.

Look at the opponents!! CFC played Michigan Hawks and McLean both top teams and great games. FSA played the bottom dwellers.

Seriously. You typed that, I assume, with a straight face?

ECNL makes all the claims to be the best league. Whether they are or not is subjective to each person's situation, but there is no doubt who puffs the chest out and thinks they are the best.

                          from the DA website.

"The Academy sets the standard for elite environments for youth soccer clubs nationwide and is a part of U.S. Soccer's global leadership position in youth soccer that will impact thousands of players."

Personally I know ECNL is about solid competition and college exposure and it has plenty of warts. USSF has barely moved the dial on the men's side in ten years. The BDA clubs that do it right are excellent. But as with the girls there's just too many mediocre ones to fill geography. USSF needs to figure out what it wants to be - the place for the nation's true top talent or another youth league.

                          - not the op

Cool. Does it say it's the best? Whoever has stated DA is the best?

There's mediocre teams in all leagues.

It's going to be hard for a league, any league, to say they are pushing the best development pathway as long as people advocate stepping away from the league for 2-3 months in the prime playing season. Tough to keep a straight face with that one.

There's plenty of DA clubs that take full advantage of the late-season add on period. It hurts USSF and club credibility and causes significant team headaches. If they really want players for ten months they should eliminate that. Same with private school waivers. No high school for anyone, period. USSF only cares about players willing to do that, so they should stop with the half measures.
