No reason to merge, part of the reason the landscape in JAX sucks is because there are 2 clubs in town right now. Liked it better when there were many around town with their own style.

Right now two ECNL teams in Jax is better than one for development of more elite players even though not winning a conference championship.
Spoken like someone whose kid is in the bottom third of their ECNL team.

Don't forget Clay (United Soccer Alliance). They get enough girls that want to play GDA that could also be disbursed throughout the talent pool. 1 GDA team and 1 ECNL team in Jax would be much more competitive.

My fault, there are 3. Just makes it boring for those of us who still play locally.

so true. parents would rather brag about their kid playing on a sucky A team in smaller pond than playing on a less sucky B team from larger pond.

That is why each club should have a huge A pool of players training together with a team of A coaches. Then rosters come out before each ECNL and NPL game.

We had NPL players train with our team and they couldn’t keep up

What team? We had a few ECNL players train with NPL and the ECNL players fit right in.

And the same parents would rather brag about their kid being on A team roster even if they ride the bench rather than be leading player on B team and start and play the entire game. Their kid it 'too good' to play for B team but not too good to ride the A team bench. Geez... So desperate.

You can't just give throw NPL players into ECNL training when they are not used to speed of play and keep up immediately. Over time, some can keep up as good or better than the ECNL benchies.

Depends on the coach and training to develop, and the showcases in front of colleges. Often a fine line between a keeper on one team or the other.

A sign of an advanced highly developing club will be interchangeable players between NPL and ECNL. There won't be this huge difference between playing ability except maybe the top few who could make a national id camp.

The exact opposite of FESA then. Bring your check book to tryouts and you make a team. What a scam.

Think that is true of most clubs. If a player wants to try to play competitively, they make a team, however maybe not a top or second team, or even third. That’s the beauty of trying it and working your way up through learning. At FESA, I have seen movement upward and downward on the girls’ side. My kid plays ecnl and we have had played move up each year.
