The only time a legit team loses to a bottom feeder is if there are major injury considerations (e.g., top team loses 2-3 studs or lower-ranked team gets stud players back in time for tournament). If a team with a great record goes down early, with no injury issues, it just means that their regular season was fraudulently built in a terrible league.
If I recall correctly, the number 10 and 12 seeds on the boys side made it to the CMass district final in 2012 with the number 12 seed winning the championship. You never know what can happen on any given day, all it takes is a tie at the end of regulation and overtime, after that it's not hard for a weaker team to win on PKs.

The post was diplomatic while focusing the underlying reality. You took it to mean equal chance of winning. That's not what was said. In fact the post notes there are easier first round matches.

The likelihood is that in CMASS D1 we'll see the same final four. The regular season is meaningless when those games kick-off. That's it.

Not losing (as opposed to winning in regulation) and getting it to PKs aside:

The MIAA tournament seeding is by record, no 'strength of schedule' or any of that other stuff. Lower seed vs higher seed often doesn't indicate the strength of a given team especially in the lower divisions (where the voke schools and charter schools often have very high seeds and little success).

Reality is sinking in as the regular season quickly comes to an end and the cold weather is upon us. I forgot how cold the tournament games can get. We have been so lucky with the pleasant Fall weather! Staying healthy is key! It should be a good ride.

Maybe the "stupid pithy post" comment was the dead give away that there was nothing diplomatic about it at all. ......

Regarding those teams in the final they came from MidWach A so they were no typical deep seed. That league is very competitive and the beat on each other for 10 games in the season. Prepares them for districts and the 4 th place team is better than the 1st or 2nd in all the other leagues. If it was a Tantasqua, Hudson, Burncoat, etc then yes that would be surprising of a late seed.

Maybe my response of "this post being diplomatic" was referring to and challenging the person who referred to the same post as "stupid and pithy" or couldn't you figure that out by reading through the rest of the post? Try to keep up.

I agree that strength of schedule is not reflected in the seedings and that the 5 through 9 teams were pretty soft in 2012. However, the top four seeds were solid teams and Wachusett (10 seed) beat the number 2 and 3 seeds and Leominster (12 seed) beat the top seed. Sorry, but no none would have put money on Wachusett and Leominster being in the district final that year based on their performances during the regular season. They were never in the conversation.

"4th place team is better than the 1st or 2nd in all the other leagues." You wanna take that one back, or are you prepared for all the hatred bound to be coming your way? It's comments like this that generate all the disdain for the MidWach A wackjobs. So, you're saying that #4 in MidWach (Leominster?) is better than Franklin, Needham, AB, CentralCatholic, Peabody, Arlington, etc.? BwahHaHaHa.

He was referring to CMASS. Jesus follow along you idiot. It is a fact that Mid Wach A 4th seed is generally better than the other leagues. Go back to your hole troll

Competitive match, but a fair result. Wachusett was in control, as impressive as I think they've ever looked.

What is so impressive about them? Anything you can pinpoint or just a general love fest all the time?
