AMHERST, Mass. - Kathryn Nathan '13 (Pembroke, Mass.) tied the game in the 83rd minute before assisting on junior Sandy Shepherd's (Coronado, Calif.) game winner at 85:12 to complete Amherst's thrilling 2-1 come-from-behind win over archrival Williams in the NESCAC women's soccer championship game on Hitchcock Field

[QUOTE=Unregistered;652959]MIT wins the NEWMAC tourney today in PKs over Springfield, having beaten Wheaton yesterday in 2 OTs.

MIT also places three on the academic all-district first team for region 1.

Will Springfield and Wheaton get at large bids?[/Q

Wow, MIT wins the MEWMAC tourney two of the last three years. Is that a dynasty building?

I guess MIT is not a bad place to go if you are smart and can play a llittle soccer.

It's not Amherst or Williams, though.

I believe they were saying that the NEWMAC teams are not ranked as high as the NESCAC teams or something like that:

Better soccer, equal, but different academics.

Oh, "different" academics. You NESCAC people are a hoot. You can't even admit that MIT is better academically than your precious schools. Please.

MIT may be a better place if you want to be an engineer or earn a living but NESCAC is the way to go if you want to work for the family business, with a big house in Wellesley, a trophy wife, 2 BMWs in the garage and two kids at Nobles. Love it; be born on third base and think you hit a triple.

That's a pretty twisted view. Most be a prolific TS poster.

Kudos to MIT for beating Wheaton and Springfield and winning their conference tournament. It seems that program is developing nicely. If the coach has some pull with admissions he should be able to continue to attract some high quality players. Success breeds success.

Shoot, if my kid had a choice between MIT, Williams or Amherst, hands down it would be MIT.

MIT is not for everyone. All are required to take physics, calculus, bio, and chemistry.
