    Question: how does DAP recruit?

I mean, like Revs U14, how do they recruit their players? from open tryout or from their scouts?

    Any parents have any insight?

They recruit through scouts, look at top participants in their RDS program, invitees to Revs training centers RTC, and by looking at who gets called in to National Training Centers. Very little cones through open tryouts.

Like every club, if your kid is the real deal they will find him and offer you incentives to come play for them. If you have to go looking for the scouts that means your kid doesn't have what it takes.

Not true. Often small clubs have big talents. But since they never get into any top brackets, those players remain unnoticed. Makes sence to do RDS once on a while.

Pretty simple, they call Peter Bradley of GPS. He seems to be the pipeline for Revolution Academy players the past several years and very good ones at that.

            Bolts recruiting

The Bolts do so by arrogance. "I am DAP so come to me"

BS. By the time kids are 10 yo everyone knows who they are IF they are that good. No BIG talent gets missed for long. This is just the lament of the not so big talent's parents.

One thing to remember is that they are building a team. So once they find their goalie they are done with that position, same for forwards, midfielders.... You want to get your kid in early so someone else doesn't get their first. They only need so many defenders.

You also want to consider (at least for u14) when is their birthday. Since it is grouped by birth year and not grade, the Jan and Feb birthdays have an advantage of being 6-8 months bigger than other kids.

The Revs shifted into making money with RDS and the summer camps, so your gotta pay to play. However they also like skilled kids that are not likely to go to college. THey like Rhode Island too

Get in the Monday night RDS session. Do all 4 sessions each year. Repeat.

Get a clue dude. Figure out what DAP is supposed to be about, not what they tell you so they can fill roster spots. They are not building a team, they are looking for future pro players who they can build a team with. Huge difference. They are not looking for some inch to small, step to slow kid, who happens to pick his head up every once and a while to make an semi-intelligent pass and looks great playing with a bunch of future JV players at some two bit club. They want the real deal and if your kid isn't widely recognized as being that by the age of 14 you are wasting everyone's time and your money.

Can't let it go can you? I hope your son is happy in life because you sure aren't.
Hope he does well in school.

Your DOC can get you in to a training session, but won't be able to get you on the team. Which is the way it should be.

Is this program helpful for 11-12 yo? Do the Revs coaches even care for the younger players?

If you're going for extra training, sure it's good. Most extra training is good. But don't go unless your kid wants it, and don't go expecting him to get discovered. If he's all that he'll be discovered anyway.
