    Agreed! Perfectly put.

Do you also have conversations with yourself in public places like you do on public forums? Someone seems to have a mental condition.

Maybe you don't want to believe it, but there are at least two of us (maybe more, I can't be sure) who disagree with the idea that we should all sugarcoat a dead person's life. Maybe it makes you uncomfortable, so you resort to snark in your responses.

"That Gacey fella was an entertaining clown at charity events..."

Does this have anything to do with Dan? The guy did great things for kids and got a bad rap on women's professional soccer. He was a clever guy. He didn't get lucky at the track in May. He figured out an arbitrage. The worst part about him dying young was missing out on what he'd do next. What would Kennedy or John Lennon have done if their lives weren't cut short? It's sad that we don't appreciate when we are witnessing greatness until it is gone.

Hmm ... comparing him to Kennedy or Lennon, now that's the ultimate disrespect to their memories and those who loved them.

I wouldn't call him great, but he did good. Those who speak ill are those who only care about their own little world. Maybe they lost to his team and resented that his resources enabled him to build what he did. Maybe their player didn't make his team and they fail to respect that coaches have choices and choose those they think will be the best fit. Maybe they resent what happend to the womens professional league. That truly was a big mistake on his part but if the league had been strong no one man could've made it crumble. Whatever their reason they carry pointless anger and that is truly pathetic.

He had a brilliant soccer mind. All kidding aside he could have done a better job than Jurgen Klinsman with the national team. He's a natural leader and knows the game. That's why Abby and Hope loved him.

You're not considering that Big Dan was a great soccer mind but a phenomenal business mind so he chose what he could do best. His 2nd best was better than the best for 99.9999% of us.

Not much of a suspense novel really ... Kennedy would have continued to sleep with more women, both married and unmarried, and Lennon would have continued his hippy existence and self-exile with Ono.

This guy was a tumor to the local soccer community and a stager4 cancer when it comes to our woman's national program and now defunct pro leauge... I don't know much about business, but that magic jack piece of crap did not seem brilliant by any means... Sad he has passed but let's take it easy on painting a picture of brilliance and sainthood

Easy there Tiger. The man is dead and buried. No amount of vitriol will change the outcome. Move on. All you are doing is carrying the casket.
