Exactly. And no college freshman is coming back to play soccer with their club. They have moved on from soccer soccer by then or are playing college ball.

Problem is finding enough Aug to Dec's to field a full team for those HS seniors needing exposure or needing to play competitively to satisfy recruiting commitments.

      Aug to Dec are Juniors.

There may be some variation for the month of Aug(some started school on time and some waited a year).
No clue. That wasn't the point. The 98s who are currently u17s are all in the same grade was the point.

Yeah, last year there was one, this year there were two. And none were what you would call "studs". Still, it's a 100% increase!

          16s - 2000

          13s - 2003
          12s - 2004

          10s - 2006
          9s -2007
You missed by one year. Next year's 2003s will be considered U14 and so on. The cut-off got pushed FORWARD, not back. No one will repeat a U-year but some will skip one. That's why there will, conceivably, be U19 going forward. The clubs are going to make sure that there is one EXTRA potential year of club play not one less.

Please! If you don't know what you are talking about, don't post!!

Here's the link to the new age chart: http://www.usyouthsoccer.org/assets/...ATRIX%20v1.pdf

The original poster was absolutely correct, it is you who are a year off. The 2003's will be U13 for the 2016 - 2017 years, etc.

As an example: If my daughter is a June 2000 - At the tryouts in June 0f 2016 what age group will she be trying out for assuming US Club Soccer ECNL, NPL, NEP is destination?

                a few points
the link above is to the USYS chart.

                USYS states
                "Calendar Year

Effective August 2017, the grouping of players will also change nationwide, with encouraged adoption of best practices in August of 2016. U.S. Soccer will go back to calendar birth years to align with international standards and Youth National Team programs.

US Youth Soccer will implement the best practice of calendar year age grouping for player registration beginning with the 2016-2017 soccer year for US Youth Soccer programs and competitions."

                US Club only posts
                https://www.usclubsoccer.org/wp-cont...rt-2015-16.pdf

and there is (nowhere I can find) any statement or upcoming 2016-2017 Age-Group-Chart from them indicating that they will adpot this at all. Why do they care about USYS competitions, they've created their own.

For 2016 2000's will be u16. Some 2000's will repeat the year at u16.

                        he·don·ism

                        /ˈhēdəˌnizəm,ˈhedənˌizəm/

                        noun

Definition: The pursuit of pleasure; sensual self-indulgence.
The ethical theory that pleasure (in the sense of the satisfaction of desires) is the highest good and proper aim of human life.

Synonyms: self-indulgence, pleasure-seeking, self-gratification, lotus-eating, sybaritism; More: intemperance, immoderation, extravagance, luxury, high living

                        Antonyms: self-restraint
Espousing that families should spend large sums of money on club soccer simply because they have the money to do it and with supposedly no goals other than the joy of participation would seem to fit within this definition.

What you fail to realize is what's meant by "pleasure" (see the parenthetical explanation in the definition you cite). Btw, your misunderstanding of "hedonism" contradicts your conviction that parents are in it for "schollys" because they can't grasp the basic math--though your narrow view of ROI has nothing to do with the satisfaction of sensuous desires. And, of course, no one ever mentioned "the joy of participation" as the only reason to participate in club soccer: that's just the figment of your limited imagination and lack of reading comprehension ability.

You are forever obsessed with how other families spend money they evidently can afford to spend. So much wasted time and energy being a hater. You would have been far better served attending to your own family and business ventures.

You're an idiot, BTDT. Plain and simple.

This is what you get when the parents have more money than the kids have talent.

Slide you scale by one year and you are all set. Don't cry - you just missed by one. Remember this is for NEXT year. You probably forgot to count that.
