Weymouth is one year into a 4 year slide. They miss the playoffs this year.
Jeez someone read the post with a hot head against Weymouth. The words were they could START on ANY team (in the state). The sophomore class has nothing compared to the standard of a south sectional final contender Weymouth seems to think they still are, and the freshman will not play, despite having the talent to develop into a BSC MVP as the next generation emerges.

If anything Weymouth should be on the upswing with these incoming classes producing 2-3 BSC MVP talent potential players and 8-10 solid core players with bright futures. This year expect them to make the tournament maybe an 7-10 seed. Next year might be the big down year before things start to take that upswing for the foreseeable future. It'll be interesting to see how the league goes this year.

      Results from scrimmages for Weymouth.

      Weymouth 2
      Hingham 0

      Weymouth 1
      Ludlow 0

      Weymouth 1
      Nauset 0

      Early but a decent sign.

They won't even beat Norwood this year, how on earth are they going to run the rest of the BSC and be a top squad?

An incoming freshmen who is very talented- for a freshmen of course. The senior class is thin, but there is like 4 quality players, 2 high quality juniors and roughly 6 with respectability, no sophomores at all if I remember right unless there's some new kids which could happen at such a big highschool.
Assuming most of those mentioned above are among the 8-9 returning starters noted previously, what's unproven is will this team be able to score. All the mentions of good individuals mention players at the back, which of course is good to have. You can't lose if the opponent doesn't score and all. The only player who looked a scoring threat last year graduated, so how will this team find a scoring punch? They need to, because it's hard to be much better if you have less scoring than last year.

Maybe. One scrimmage score means nothing. Three of them may mean a little, although Hingham and Nauset are pretty small compared to a giant like Weymouth. Ludlow also far smaller than Weymouth, but have the best d1 tourney history.

I know nothing about those scrimmages. I do not know who played or who didn't play for either team. But if we live in the land of make believe and pretend that the scrimmage with Ludlow was the first team vs the first team then a 1-0 win would be a fantastic sign for Weymouth. But I highly doubt they both played their first teams all game.

I was at the game and Ludlow and Weymouth both played the entirety of their first team for this match. However Nauset did sit out one of their captains.

So the bit of bloom on weymouths rose (winning against a regular contender, Ludlow) is taken off by Ludlow also losing to nauset (by a bigger margin, for those who want to read way too much into these things). Thanks to the poster for providing these results.

Weymouth scrimmaged again yesterday. They max out with 20 games, and scrimmage a lot, too. Anyone think a high school team should be substituting training for some of this?

at least weymouth is scoring. scrimmage results may not indicate much, but still better to be scoring in them than getting shut out
