Learned the hard way to with my older daughter as she was at an academy that keep selling her and us that she’s a Div 1 player, she’s getting lots of interest etc. and at the end of the day it was all bull. She ended up playing D3 but if we knew that I would have been looking for a more affordable and local option instead of spending so much time and money listening to the freaking sales pitch of the club. Only 1 player of her roster ended up playing D1, and they fed that BS to everyone. Lesson learned for round 2 with my youngest.
Think about those things, see how much these costly travel leagues will cost you in HS, along with the realities of athletic scholarships (hint: there's not as much $ out there as clubs want you to think). Many like you learn the hard way after it's cost them a lot of money and time.

Pick some schools that could be a target for your player and take a close look at where players come and which ones get the most PT. It's eye opening and an exercise worth spending some time on. Also at that age if your kid needs cajoling and isn't willing to put in the hard work to make it as a D1 athlete, you're wasting your time. By HS making through the gauntlet to D1 is as much about skills as it is mental toughness and willingness to put in the hours.

Wish the academies (and sorry to be so broad) are more honest with people as to not string along paying customers with false D1 college playing promises. When they are generic (stuff like your Sally is getting lots of interest and attention) but without actual details that’s usually a bad sign.

Very hard to project 90% of 7th and 8th graders. For the 90%, it's a waste of time to project a college. It's also a dumb way to pick a club.

A U15 player who is not yet in HS can play U14 during the fall and before the U15 season commences.
