What specifically will end clubs, no indoor training/competitions?

Such a dumb statement. Clubs have been paid for the year bozo. Normal spring will happen this year. Vaccine rollout happening in 2 weeks. Try reading. It helps.

There is no vaccine for kids. You’d know if you tried reading.

Again you are an idiot. Kids don’t need it. The vaccine is for the vulnerable so kids can move on with their lives. You’d understand that if your IQ was over 80.

All it will take is a few people winning lawsuits against clubs for cancelled practices, games and entire seasons. It will turn into a frenzy that most clubs will never be able to afford.

You brought up vaccine in the first place. Maybe logic and reading are not your strong points.

Such an inaccurate statement, will not end all clubs. But there are some that continue to lose $ especially on the girls side and may be doomed by this unfortunate covid-19 world we live in. By the spring it my be telling especially if there is no season (which would be a shame).

Yet everyone played this past fall and nobody sued their club. This is a stupid thread I don't know why I'm even responding.

No one sued because everyone played. People also tolerated last spring because we were in crisis. This time people are fed up. Clubs that treat their customers right and make every effort to keep training kids under whatever the restrictions are will be fine. The ones that don't, or were already on the edge in terms of performance or in a shoddy league, will struggle. Add in that many families are re-evaluating how they're spending their money and the pool of players is going to shrink. Those that remain will do some shifting. Some clubs won't make it. Survival of the fittest baby.

This may end a few pop up clubs, most of whom never should have been created in the first place and are only BS money grabs for players who should be on their local town teams. Clubs that play in top leagues, that field teams at all (or close to it) age groupos will be fine. There's no lawsuits because contracts all had language written in to protect them from covid type eventualities. And anyway, the games were played and practices held. make up sessions can easily be scheduled, vaccine will roll out soon. Remember, we were never looking to protect kids (who have a .001% fatality rate). The measures taken were to avoid having the kids bring the illness home to grandma or diabetic mom. Once those people can be vaccinated, there would be no logical reason to stay locked down at any level.

The problem is clubs need at least 3 teams at each age group to do well on the $ profit side. If they have 2 or less they pretty much break even or lose $. Some clubs like PDA, Matchfit etc are doing great with loaded rosters and many teams at each age group. Other clubs like CSA, SJEB used to have at least 3 teams at each age group but now have dropped to only 2 and in some age groups very small rosters barely fielding teams. These clubs will likely survive but may not do so well financially with less paying customers. The formula is pretty straightforward, more players more revenue.

                            Play

Not everyone played fall. HS age is really just starting (not really with the updated/ever changing covid regs.)

An 06 who isnt in HS yet and now with the indoor freeze wouldnt have had anything going on team wise to any great degree yet the clubs want the money for the year after giving **** refunds last year.

My older daughter was HS senior last year that played a few indoor games and one tournament with her club and got back $350 out of thousands after spring was cancled.

Not getting hosed again/lesson learned so younger daughter is at a higher level local team for this season instead of one of the "elite" clubs. She is having fun and they all get to play significant minutes/no lame sub rules etc.

It's a win/win for the parent as the savings in tuition is significant and the soccer is still soccer that your kid enjoys.

Just as an FYI for anyone reading who might benefit next year, an 06 not yet in HS is a trapped player and many leagues, including ECNL, specifically have rules that allow them to play "down" a year. A U15 player who is not yet in HS can play U14 during the fall and before the U15 season commences.
