what will be of the 99s that don't make the cut for U16 but are good candidates for the following year? The Revs have no holding place except I guess the bench. Then again that doesn't really develop them. Do those kids do 15 pre academy? Or where do they go? Revs can't exactly bring in a whole new crop of 99s the following year. You have to think that some current 99s that didn't make the 2 yr up cut are better than a 99 that didn't make the revs u14 cut last year. Not always the case, but sure could be.

You also have to factor in kids this age (13-16) develop physically and mentally at different rates. A 99 last year that didn't make the team could actually be much more suited for the team this fall. It's very possible.

Having a kid actually push themselves for playing time is a good thing. Being gifted anything never helps anyone.

Let's face it, Kraft does not want to have pre-academy teams. GH and BS are hoping that folks like you would believe this crap about practice time only.

If you been around high level soccer you would know that the difference in talent from an academy team and pre-academy team is significant. You can see this at state cup, ODP tournaments or even big clubs with elite teams from NEFC , MPS or Blazers compared to the rest of their teams
You may have 1 or 2 talented players that could make the jump but the rest would just be good players.

Revs U14 team is very new. This seems a new problem without a track record as of yet. Seems that before the u14 team, players entered the Revs program at U16 presumably all shaving and on a level playing field for growth and development. The U16 scouting and tryouts made for a more simplified scenario with all players entering as new to the system. If they didn't get cut, they could be there between 2 and 4 years depending on grad yr and U16 start yr.
Now there can be a real conundrum as to where to shelve some players for the in between year (really u15 year). Otherwise we are talking about players needing to stay on top of their game and make the roster 5-6 consecutive years without being cut. I guess we can only see what happens to some of those 99s this coming year. Wish the best to the 99s so not to need to make decisions about such a delemna.
