Good points. Are these FSA and YU players leaving their clubs to play GDA, or are they guest players? If the latter, thats effed up.

Basically you can odd on players up until April if you want.
Yes and the colleges enable it by saying we would like you to play GDA or DA

In the case of GDA, the speed of play is higher in ECNL

          Get a clue you dolt
Apparently, it is better for their prep school players who come back in late november and then start, dummy.

They don't need waivers but can just be added at a later date, as in once HS is over, as per USDA rules. Players can be added almost the entire year. Needless to say it doesn't sit well with families whose kids do give up HS. pp19-20 link below

As for FSA or YU players? USDA doesn't allow guest players and part time players have to be a member of that club (like with OW say on an NPL team) pg 21. So unless those players are leaving their clubs they're not "showcasing" with OW.

... and, if what the other posters are reporting is true, HS soccer for the new FSA and YU players seemed to help them take spots of the OW kids that trained all fall in Portland .... HAHAHAHA .... that is so ironic! :)

At least it is around here. College coaches are realizing GDA in the NE isn't not up to snuff.

It’s not just prep players. It’s also public high school players too

There aren't many YU or FSA players OW would even want, and I say that not as an OW fan but as a realist.

this thread digressed pretty quickly. no one reading about U12 DA cares about OW or the prep school/HS debate.

The discussion didn't last long on the MA board and it started a few days ago http://talking-soccer.com/TS4/showthread.php?t=154918
