In contrast to some other clubs, TBU does not have one coach do the player evals and selections for an age group/team. That is done by a group of coaches for each age group/team at TBU. The selections were made by a group of coaches and will be supported by a group of coaches.

Agreed. We came from another club in the Clearwater area and when we showed up for ECNL tryouts at TBU we were stunned that they had like 75 girls in our age group but there were 3-4 coaches running each tryout and - the best part - they had someone with a clipboard recording things when the coaches would huddle at breaks.

Previous to that, we had been at "tryouts" where there would be like 45 girls and 1-2 coaches and NOBODY writing anything down about any players. Beware!

The Florida Elite U18 ECNL team only had six players form its original roster participate in the Playoffs in Redmond. Did TBU bring on guest players?

The fact that you think PG picked the team shows how ignorant you are to the TBU process. Last year he was told who to take based on some donations from parents, and rumor is, he was told who to take them again, and refused. Therefore, he was let go.

Really? Name one parent that donates money to the club, provides in-kind services or sponsorships. No one on that team has any pull with anyone.

I don’t think it is a coincidence that the core group of girls on this team has not changed since it was formed yet they continue to struggle when they play quality competition.

If PG wanted to change things it seemed like he wasn’t allowed to because for a majority the team has remained intact

The 01 team at TBU has changed by about 30-35% each year for the past 3 years because high end girls keep competing to get on this team at this club from other area clubs. PG brought this group together and merged it into a highly successful group. Many of these girls will combine with players from JC's team for next year. That squad will be very strong!

You're chasing ghosts.... what you don't understand is that all the coaches at TBU respect and support each other. This age group will be very strong next year and PG had a lot do to with that!!

The one team that for the second year in a row, had a coach announced at tryouts and then had the coach changed after tryouts.
