Not sure if it is really worthwhile to make either team and never make the travel team. Your time is more valuable than the dollar cost.
Stats show only 14 Thorns academy players playing in games. Do 18 travel and 4 not play at all or do only 14 travel?

Nobody knows who will show up for any game so conventional wisdom is to carry extra fill in players if you really need a warm body.

Nice try at being sarcastic and negative. Won’t work because you are inaccurate.

That’s a bad idea because eventually if you have players on team that don’t get playimg time they will get upset. Nobody even B team players want to sit on the bench.

There is a Playing Time guarantee on thorns that says everyone gets a turn starting games.

This would be very attractive for parents that have kids that don't get much playing time elsewhere. Sign them up and bring grandma and grandpa to see their kid get to play.

Haha. Are you suggesting only B team players have Grandma and Grandpa come to watch? Again, that would be inaccurate. You seem to be very inaccurate in your negative sarcasm. Maybe try being more positive and you will find the truth more? Just sayin’.....

I think this is a good thing. After all, this is just a game and they are still kids. Making a kid sit on the bench and never get to start or play is not sending good message. I applaud the kids coaches who thought of this.

Yes. USSF thought of this. They aren’t perfect, but it is called a “development” academy. Good point.

My niece plays on a 4-H Team and they have this too. Gets kids that can barely kick the ball on the pitch which is really fun.

By nature it isn’t called elite league. It’s called development. The whole point is for girls to get better. So it doesn’t matter if they are top players or riding the pine at 4H. Everyone can develop. Smart move to keep your customer base open.

Hopefully the playing time guarantee helps.

Playing Time Guarantee? The heck is that?
                          4H? What?

I agree. This is a very good move to guarantee starts for everyone.

Love the equal playing time idea.

The result is more development and more college commits. Players don’t develop and don’t get college commits unless they play. DA even has separate showcases for teams that don’t make the playoffs so that winning isn’t important. Players will get developed and will get seen by hundreds of college coaches.
