Probably already covered If so I apologize. I think there are valid points along all lines of this discussion but this is a NATIONAL team so when a player accepts that jersey and the pay check that comes with it, they have already made their choice. If this woman wasn't a dope and an attention WHR she would refuse the invitation to play with the USA and in doing so I would respect here actions. She is a hypocrite.

Rapinoe isn't on the USWNT roster anymore, so, murica, f-yeah!

Perhaps because of the job description. Shoot & murder first is not part of it.

Why are you defending killer cops?

From a national team perspective, my thing is if you're not proud enough of you're country to stand for the anthem then why are you proud enough to wear the jersey? A real boycott in this setting would be to not play for the national team. But since she makes a pretty good living and would see her income plummet with that decision we all know she won't do that.

When she's prepared to draw an X through the crest with a sharpie or rip it off her jersey, I'll take her so-called protest more seriously. Until then, it's something between unoriginal and hypocritical.

Who's ever defended "murder" (at least when it comes to defending cops)?

Conversely, in your world which seems to ignore the dystopia in which cops work every day, is there such thing as justifiable homicide? Answer truthfully, if it's "no," then, tragic as it may be that anyone is dying, there's nothing further to discuss.

Dystopia in which cops work every day? No, police murder of unarmed black men, repeatedly. Many times the murders have been caught on camera: Eric Garner, Terence Crutcher, Alfredo Olango, Cameron Massey and on and on. Look at the videos and explain why it's anything other than murder. These are public *****ings.

Good that some soccer players such as Megan Rapinoe have the courage to take a stand.

How about the two white cops that were gunned down this week? All good with that?

The cop was cleared in the Garner case. So a Grand Jury clearly does not agree with your version of what happened. No mention of Freddie Gray, or the Ferguson fairy tale? Oh right, it doesn't fit the narrative anymore. Got it.

P.S. Rapinoe can "protest" all she wants now. In front of 500 fans at an NWSL game that no one watches!

The media tells me none of this is true.

Plus, I read it on facebook, so I really know it's not true.

That doesn't excuse police violence against minorities and routine police abuse of laws they are apparently exempt from. Just because some criminal shoots two white policemen over here does not excuse other policemen from breaking the law elsewhere.

Not the person you are replying to, but really now...

No one is out to " excuse " police violence against minorities . What needs to be done is to look at the big picture. Over and over criminologists who have studied the issue all come to pretty much the same conclusion.

The people being subject to police " violence " are in that position NOT because of their race, but because of their own actions, behavior and a higher likelihood of being involved in criminal activities.

This is verified by real life experience by veteran Law Enforcement Officers who actually work in some of the most horrendous conditions one could ever imagine. Because of societal changes, they have more and more interactions with people with drug problems, mental illness , relationship inabilities and other afflictions that Police Officers in the past never encountered.

Remarkable how simple questions can't be answered.

Narrative? What's wrong with you? Explain to us why these were not cold-blooded murders:
