Funny how facilities like the Xfinity center are in use far less frequently but yet it has a value.

It's in the middle of no where. And has a capacity of 19,900. And the average attendee spends a boatload on concessions (eg booze). Not to mention an incredible cut to the house on each show. And pricey parking. So yeah, it has value.

Xfinity has far less than 10 events per year? Are you sure about that? Xfinity center had more paid customers for 2 Jimmy Buffet shows than the Breakers had for all their games combined. And their ain't no $15 tickets for Buffet.

Silly, you are proving the point. They have concerts at Gillette don't they? I recently went to an event Rock Stadium in Brockton. Why would you think that a Breakers facility couldn't also be used for events like concerts?

Good luck trying to build that with all the nimby's around (See Revs for exhibit A). If anything, in the event the Revs finally build something, they could play there. But a specific one for the Breakers? Economically unfeasible.

That wasn't the poster's point, you know that. The point was a comparison of the profitability of a venue like the Xfinity Center to that of a proposed Breakers soccer facility that would get used 10 times a year for soccer games. If you want to consider the additional use of the space for things like concerts, other sporting events, private functions, etc, then go ahead. Your dream might come true.

And you are missing the very first posters point that a sports franchise is more than just its game receipts and payroll. If the Breakers were really good businessmen they would understand how many pieces of a puzzle can all be put together to generate profits. A perfect example is the Red Sox. The Breskers ownership group are clearly small minded players who don't have much money to do things right and as a result the product out on the field will continue to suck as they Nicole and dime there way through

More changes to the lineup but not to the management.

Cellar dwellers under this ownership, nothing will change that.

Women's soccer just can't generate the interest necessary to create real synergies across all the different spokes of the wheel.
