Hasn't the creation of Weymouth's club team and Braintree's as well lessened their ability to compete at MTOC. For example, the previous poster said Easton won 2016 U16s. Braintree had their best players playing on a Division 1 maple team not playing town travel.

Norton did not win because of there senior class alone. They are still the team to beat until otherwise noted.

Also, in other DCL news. Concord-Carlisle has at least 12 returning seniors. Past 2 seasons they've had over 100 kids tryout and usually carry a big roster. They should be fine.
Acton-Boxboro will be loaded with seniors this year after a 7-4-7 campaign. Very possible they are the team to beat in the DCL this year.

Nope, they have a game that actually counts within the next few days wouldn't be surprised if both teams starters barely played

No true correlation!

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostProjections of MTOC success when younger, or even JV success, rarely are all that predictive of varsity success. We can understand why: in many towns, the best players drop town soccer in favor of club. Many kids go to private school instead of their town's public school. The high school team consolidates 4 years' worth of kids, MTOC consolidates 1-2 years' (JV up to 3). If coaching matters, the coach at HS should be better. The quantity of play is greater in HS (about 2x more per week). You get the picture - there are a lot of reasons why success in one league and time may not correspond to success in another.
Not sure I agree that HS coaching on average is any better than top youth. For every great high school coach there are 2 English teachers coaching.
Quantity of play in HS doesn't make any of the players better. No skill develop is happening.
I'm not suggesting that Weymouth are favorites to win state titles for the next 4 years, but they are very likely to have competitive teams.
