The changing landscape will force smaller clubs to consolidate to be able to compete on the same platform.

If you go to the North version of NEFC or GPS, then eventually the better players will get skimmed off for the privilege of driving to the "central" location for their elite team. There was a time when Aztec would consolidate the rest of the high-end north shore talent into teams that could compete with the big boys' elite teams. With independent NSU gone (and Vikings too?), this job of consolidating should be easier. NEFC North is a major impediment to that given the pedigree/history of their coaches, but it will always have the structural disqualifier of not being a first team. Sounds like many have decided their only alternative is to drive.

Should you not pay to be on a 2 team at U11 if your D is a bubble player and has some growing to do and maybe that 2k will get her on a top team eventually. I am not bashing but just looking for opinions, this is a pay to play industry right now.

Good perspective. Although nefc ns has over 20 teams and it's in its first year. Their pedigree and coaches reputations are good. Way better than what's left at aztec or any surrounding clubs. I think as time goes they are the main resource for a soccer club in the north shore. I could be wrong. Time will tell. This tryout period will tell the tale.

What happens within the NPL is currently under discussion. If the NPL moves to remove Aztec Girls from the NPL based on their general lack of competitiveness, there is the likelihood that NEFC NS will get the Aztec NPL slots. If Aztec is able to keep the NPL slots, NEFC NS will only have one or two NPL slots from the NEFC allotment. This decision is three or four weeks away and depends on Aztec results in the NPL this spring. This is likely the reason Aztec removed a team from the NEP to focus the efforts on the NPL teams.
