One of the worst coaches Mass has ever produced and that is comparing him to some awfully shady characters.

How does BBNT purport to know anything about soccer. He doesn't have a single soccer player in the family. Why doesn't he share his insights on swimming or pole vaulting while he's at it?

The team also never scored during the game we saw. I was looking for a team to teach 1v1 skills and attacking. Is there a preferred alternative to that style?
          The alternative is called soccer.

My daughter played for FM and he works on basic skills. He does a lot of small sided games and played players pretty fairly in games. He is tough but for the mental errors and little things. He is a solid coach at U13 and under. He does lack the tactical awareness of the current game with his forward style of play. Would be smart to coach teams up to U12 or U13 and pass on to more tactical minded coaches.

NEFC coach at this age is no different. BM is the same as FM in personnality and coaching ability. They are both cut from the same cloth, old school soccer.

Nefc is much better at every age group, not even a question. Breakers are a terrible club now.

At every age group? Are you sure?

In all seriousness, FM probably has been the top coach in the state for the past 15 years. No one other than perhaps JD has come close to his overall record of success.

In NPL, the competition for NEFC Elite is Bayside, GPS, Aztec, Oakwood, Syracuse Dev Acad., Yankee and Seacoast. Not exactly a powerful lineup of opponents. Now you can argue whether its better to get beat every week as Breakers ECNL often do, or to win by multiple goals every week as NEFC often does. No question you will get lots of different opinions on which environment is better for player development. But the level of competition in NPL is not ideal for NEFC's top teams. No situation is perfect.

chicken or the egg: Did he do a great job developing players? Or did he have great players fall in his lap?

Put it this. He started from scratch. Didn't inherit or merge with any clubs. Record of success unparalleled. Criticize to your heart's content but don't deny what people have accomplished. Quite a story if you think about it. From a town team in Braintree all the way to merger with the women's professional team.

The guy basically has Aspergers. He's never on time and his coaching approach is nothing short of Attila the Hun. From a soccer standpoint he drills the basics hard but often to the detriment of other parts of the game. If your kid is not a striker who can carry the ball 1v1 against the whole other team he has no use for you.
