It does not matter the team can not play in a top league. If he does not keep 50% of the roster they will not keep the got soccer pts either.

This thread is focusing on the NPL/FSPL teams.

At the moment, the only guaranteed FSPL team is GTBFC. Any other local team that is advertising themselves as FSPL is lying. Not that they can't get in, but they have to apply for league placement, since they did not finish in Round of 16 or higher in State Cup. With that in mind, if there's any spots available in FSPL, I would think that WFF would be a prime candidate to get in since they won the league this season, with TBU and Chargers having an outside shot if multiple spots become available. WC would have 2 chances to get in.....slim and none, since they didn't even play State Cup this year and finished last in USA. There will be a ton of teams trying to get in, why would FYSA take WC when many other teams will have much better resumés? Really doesn't matter if they pick up a few GTBFC players, as the team history is the primary indicator, and the history ain't good!

            Very interesting thread

The question is where to play in one of the most important years of a player’s soccer life.
My son’s team in looking for 4 or 5 quality committed players. I am sure there are player that are looking for a change. Some of those players could start but do not get much playing time on their current club. Playing time is the key for exposure. With that in mind take a look at the Clearwater Chargers. Call or Email Coach Kyle See for your self what the team has to offer.

            Tryouts are:
            Tuesday 05/26 7:30 to 9:00
            Wednesday 05/27 7:30 to 9:00
            Thursday 05/28 7:30 to 9:00
            Friday 05/29 7:30 to 9:00

So true...to many parents think just because there kid plays for some hot stuff team they are the best even though they sit the bench. Why do that to your kid. College scouts don't see players on the bench on an A team or div. 1 team...but they will see them 'playing' on a div. 2/3 or B team.

And don't let the naysayers fool you...scouts do check out lower level teams because they know they can find gems there. How do I know that, because I'm a scout and don't ask who for because you'll be wasting your time.

Just know we don't just scout the 'top' teams.

Sorry, but this guy is a joke. He's a "scout"? And he's on TS saying they scout the USA league caliber teams? Suuuuurrrrrreeeeeee they do! We've played high leaghes and havent seen any college scouts. In fact, they've told us they can usually only get to certain events on a regular basis, like showcases, and academy games. But this guy is showing up at tarsa games? Laughable!

Does it matter if "scouts" come or not? They should want to go to a college for their future first and foremost, and athletics secondary. Some parents have it reversed and are joyous to play at a d2-3 school or junior college vs aiming higher.

Just because a school is D2 or D3 doesn't mean it's not a good school! There are some really good small schools out there. Same with NAIA. If the school is an excellent fit

This 'NPL' week of tryouts is where you dip your toe into the water, where you can 'sample' the teams out there. Next week is the real deal!

Yes those were NPL tryouts some WFF, TBU, GTB, players were at the Chargers NPL tryouts.

Went to WFF, TBU, and Chargers NPL tryouts put your toe in the water. Some of the coaches picked there teams and said next week is more to fill bench or look for the diamond in the rough. Keep your options open

I am surprised to hear that the WFF boys were at the Clearwater NPL tryouts. I might expect a few to go over to the Academy at Clearwater but can't see them leaving for the NPL team there.

So NPL tryouts were last week... how soon until the club/team lets kids know? We went all 3 days and haven't heard anything. Don't clubs at least give you the courtesy of saying sorry, we aren't picking you for a spot. The kids need to have other options and other clubs to go visit.

What club? NPL tryouts are this week, not last week. Are you just trolling?
