As I told all of you two weeks ago, and you have since seen the thread that indicates that Largo United "the crown jewel" of Pinellas Soccer has merged forces with West Florida club to create the strongest alliance in Pinellas County. Largo Unied wil lcontinue to provide a family friendly club, with the most outstanding training facility in the county, as well as some of the best training in Pinellas. This merger allows Largo United to continue to grow, as well as providing an excellent partner that will provide an additional outlet of training for our talented teams. This further strengthens the strength of the club and allows us to continue to be the best facility for soccer in Central and Southern Pinellas County.

Two mergers in the last two years. Really shows how insignificant this club really is, and desparate for survival and grabbing at anything that will keep money in the Sousa family. Good luck keeping players when the parents are already gripping about the current fees. Wait till they start paying the same fees others are paying.Comment

Why would anyone go to Clearwater? They are struggling just to get teams up and running on the girls side. They don't have a U15 team, the U14 team is horrid and they are struggling with the lower ages. The coaching with the Chargers on the girls side is brutal...you would think they would dedicate some funds to fix the girls teams issues, but the Chargers are only interested in greasing the D.O.C. pockets.Comment

The girls side of the Chargers SC had 11 teams which played in State Cup. 7 of those Chargers SC girls teams played so well as to move on to the next round or on to the Round of 16 for State Cup.
The days of small youth soccer clubs have passed. Only the larger clubs can offer players an opportunity to play in the best of the best leagues.
The top-tier and dedicated Pinellas County female soccer players should try to make an ECNL team at VSI WFF. If those players aren't fortunate enough to make, or don't wish to to dedicate that much time or expense to, an ECNL team, then the Chargers SC offers those Pinellas County girls the next best playing opportunities.Comment

If a player does not make ECNL then they should play on the next team at WFF. Their time will come. The second team players fill gaps on the ECNL team all the time. It is still a great experience.Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment

The second team at WFF does not fill in any gaps except at maybe practice and that depends on which age group you are talking about. There is such a difference between the ECNL and the 2nd teams. Agree that WFF or TBU are the best options for girls, but wouldn't say the the Chargers are a good option. Their U14 team coached by EM is very disorganized and just not a very good team. There is no U15 option and they have struggled to fill the lower aged teams on the girls side. No doubt that WFF is the greatest girls program in the county! Chargers fields in CLearwater are nasty, McMullen Booth has no parking, the bathrooms need condemned, the fields have nasty stagnant water lying all around. The Eddie Moore fields are a joke, they run doenhill, are poorly maintained and not made for competitive or rec soccer. DiMaggio is a landmine with rocks, trash and holes. David Martin has the bathrooms welded shut, you have to get in your car and drive down Gulf to Bay to use the restroom at the gas station. On the way to the field you will be asked for change at least five times by hobos, and there are syringes on the ground throughout the park.Comment

Wow...you have no clue. WFF is taking you over, your not a partner. Your services will no longer be needed. Also let me help you with soccer club 101. Here is your lesson. Why does WFF want to take you over? Is it for your competitive teams? Ha, what good teams do you have? None. No it's for the rec program, which is what makes clubs money. When you merged with Osceola your rec program become attractive, with VSI getting all these clubs with big rec programs that equals profit. On the competive side Largo has nothing to offer.
