That being said, anything can happen come tournament time. It's really when coaching can come into play both before and during games.

(and 'there non league games...' should be 'their non league games'.)
There, their, THEY’RE going no where in the tournament no matter how you spell it.

Fun tournament this year in both south and north. No clear favorite.

Put Silver Lake in a legit conference and they have 3-4 losses this year. Even if you put themin the Hock they’d lose multiple games. The Baystate League they’d be barely over .500 playing Newton North, Needham, Brookline, Wellesley, Natick, Walpole and hell they already tied Weymouth so that’s not impressive.

There non league games are home vs Weymouth 0-0, Away they beat Prep 4-3 and home vs BR 6-0
They have a solid chance to surprise people in the playoffs. It is a different kind of roster than they have had in the past several years.

Unfortunately when talking about Prep they are way down compared to previous years. Yes they are good but not nearly as talented as the previous year. They are lacking a true goal scorer.

As for Silver Lake they mainly play D2 and D3 teams in the Patriot League, this is why year in and year out they struggle against teams who play quality competition all year long. They have a good attack but their back line is very suspect and can be exploited very easily. The way you beat Silver Lake is to have speed up top and defend first and counter attack them which will happen in the tournament when they get knocked out in the 1st round or quarterfinals yet again.

Good win for Weymouth 5-2-6 needs 2 points to qualify and have home games against Needham, Newton North, Braintree, and BC High and an away game at Milton. They’ll be in yet again, seeding will be determined how they finish those last 5 games. I think they’ll end up 8-3-7.

Brockton looked far from impressive today against Norwell who was much more organized and dangerous. Brockton just isn’t the same team as last year and have little to no supporting cast for LT. it’ll be interesting to see how far they drop in the seeding come Tournament time as they are 5-4-2

New Bedford with back to back ties. Yesterday against Durfee and today against Seekonk. They are now 4-3-4 on the season.

Wait until SL runs into Weymouth in the tourney.

Since there is so much parity in high school now compared to 20-30 years ago, , mostly at D-1 and D-2,some of it is who is playing well at the end of the year, as opposed to winning on just talent.

Seeding means something, but not as much as it should. A decent team can get a #1 seed, but plays nobody and wind up with a 15-0-1 record compared to an #8 seed that might play in the Bay State and ends beating the #1 seed in the 2nd round.

That’s usually exactly what happens. You’ll see the top conference dominate in postseason play like the Baystate League, DCL, and middlesex. Those 3 leagues dominate most of the D1 North and South year in and year out regardless of seeding. Those teams are usually so battle tested from the regular season that they are tournament ready compared to a Silver Lake, East Boston, or some other team that plays in a weak league and racks up wins at ease without any pressure or competition.

Silver Lake is probably no worse than 2nd in D-1 south after Needham. The competition in that league is better than the Boston City League. SL has beaten a decent opponent, they can certainly pass the test where EB is untested. They tied Burke, who lost to Watertown 4-0. Patriot isn't that great, but it's good enough where the top seed can do some damage and significantly better overall than the BCL.

If the season ended today, this would be the seedings or close to in D-1 South. Records are all over the place, so basically had to try to guess.

                        1. Silver Lake
                        2. Durfee

This is about as weird as it gets. Tie Somerville, tie Newton North, but lose to a bunch of crappy teams.

This isn't the same team so you can't compare. Even the team last year was full of players who hadn't grown up playing club soccer. Most of the starting roster play against 2 highly competitive NPL teams and have played together in 1 or 2 club teams since they were in the 1st grade. Different team this year.
