What are you thinking in Mass?

There will be no spring soccer this year. Colleges have just begun telling students not to come back spring semester. It will all be online.

We had an interesting thing happen at a try out that really shows what humans are capable of. We had a semi secretive try (an anticipated tournament was going to require a large upfront payment from players parents so we needed to know who would be on the team) out over the weekend. Indoor facility. Closed down to general public. Players all wore tyvec suits and masks and were assigned numbers taped to their backs. Because faces were not obvious, a parent took advantage and switched the number that his daughter had with the number of one of the better players on the coaches clipboard. The only reason it got discovered was that the parent didn't know that two other coaches also had the names and numbers.

In all honesty? Spring 2021.
Not only is this spring not going to happen, but I don't think that kids are going to be going back to school this spring either which means that the summer/fall school schedules are going to be a nightmare as they attempt to catch up.

I think club is over for the spring/summer. The only thing that is potentially alive is HS in September. But most likely that will be cancelled by mid-August (once the schools realize they won't be able to have tryouts in August).

We have no idea how long it's even been in our country. Just because we started testing for it doesn't mean it just started here. How many people do you each know that had flu-like symptoms but tested negative? This will be months before normalcy. Months.

Forecasts for peak # of cases (even with all these closures) won't come until mid April-ish. Until case numbers start to decline rapidly they won't reopen schools or anything else, probably not until Mid May (which is about 2 months of closures, similar to China). But again, that's only if case numbers vastly improve. One state (Kansas?) already called school off for the rest of the school year. If kids can't get back in until late May, is going for a month and possibly ramping up the spread again (because it won't be gone, just lessened) worth it?
