We will be back to work, school and soccer sooner than later. Trump will eventually tell everyone to Make America Work Again and we will move on. Some will die but he’s nit going to keep our country shut down more than a couple months because it’s election year.

What are you thinking in Mass?
Shut down CNN and then I would say June 1

There will be no spring soccer this year. Colleges have just begun telling students not to come back spring semester. It will all be online.

Very true. CNN is making it their job to keep the economy down. I assume they think it will get old man Biden elected in November but it will backfire and Trump wins easily.

Even Huffington Post pointed out how terrible CNN is. And this was a while ago. Zero improvement. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/cnn-i...-why_n_1478927

The scary part? This article is 8 years and old and it's got decidedly WORSE. Ouch.

We had an interesting thing happen at a try out that really shows what humans are capable of. We had a semi secretive try (an anticipated tournament was going to require a large upfront payment from players parents so we needed to know who would be on the team) out over the weekend. Indoor facility. Closed down to general public. Players all wore tyvec suits and masks and were assigned numbers taped to their backs. Because faces were not obvious, a parent took advantage and switched the number that his daughter had with the number of one of the better players on the coaches clipboard. The only reason it got discovered was that the parent didn't know that two other coaches also had the names and numbers.

                    Tyvec suits, huh?
Isn’t that what we wrap homes with?
                    Too bad you got caught...lol

                      In all honesty? Spring 2021.

Not only is this spring not going to happen, but I don't think that kids are going to be going back to school this spring either which means that the summer/fall school schedules are going to be a nightmare as they attempt to catch up.

Today RI sent out April 15 to resume practices and May 2 to start spring games.

That's because they said April 1 two weeks ago. When we get close to April 15 they will push that day out to April 30...and it will continue until they can get the approval from the state...no way it's May 2 for games.

I think club is over for the spring/summer. The only thing that is potentially alive is HS in September. But most likely that will be cancelled by mid-August (once the schools realize they won't be able to have tryouts in August).

We have no idea how long it's even been in our country. Just because we started testing for it doesn't mean it just started here. How many people do you each know that had flu-like symptoms but tested negative? This will be months before normalcy. Months.

Forecasts for peak # of cases (even with all these closures) won't come until mid April-ish. Until case numbers start to decline rapidly they won't reopen schools or anything else, probably not until Mid May (which is about 2 months of closures, similar to China). But again, that's only if case numbers vastly improve. One state (Kansas?) already called school off for the rest of the school year. If kids can't get back in until late May, is going for a month and possibly ramping up the spread again (because it won't be gone, just lessened) worth it?

Exactly. All these steps being taken are to flatten the curve, but the virus will still be present and can flare up at any time if certain precautions don't remain. Go back to normal too fast and Boom. Big 2nd wave. Now that China is opening back up it will be vital to track cases. Even there everyone wears masks, workers and students get temperature checked each day or they aren't allowed in. It's not really "normal" there and won't be for quite some time. A vaccine is 12-18 months away so tests on existing treatments are our best hope to improve outcomes in the meantime. Yet that is also many months away. We are buying ourselves vital time, that is all.
