Most of these people have bought double wide on a single wide salary. Getting some money back would be a great relief.

Folks would be surprised at the salaries of some coaches which are upwards of 6 figures including DOCs.

just over 6 figures is standard for any administrator of a business with some sort of licensing requirement (in this case, likely business degree plus coaching license). it is exactly what you would expect for administrators of similarly sized businesses. not saying the DOC of your local optimist club that runs out of one park should be charging that. But for the larger programs, it is market. Not sure why everyone acts so shocked. what miserable jobs do you have?

Folks we live in the age of the internet. You are able to see the clubs tax return. I don't know why you would want to, but it is there. For example one club in south florida made close to 4 million last year. 50% of that money was for salaries. The rest is for expense. This particular club has friend and family in the uniform business, maintenance business, food business, and other businesses that would service the club. In this one particular club the head honcho owns a few of the businesses. Is the picture getting clearer. Don't be fooled by these people. The clubs and the coaches will be fine.

All I think you will see is that those kids on those lower level competitive teams will move to rec due to reduced incomes.

USSF should create an official 7v7 league for all age groups U9 and up with 50 minute games on smaller fields for the lower level players. Clubs suffering catastrophic loss of players would still be able to field teams. A one referee system would be used and to cut expenses. And between needing only one referee and shorter games it would ease the problems we currently have with referee shortages.

And honestly, I think it would be more fun for these players because the shorter field will encourage end-to-end play regardless of any skill level disparities.

totally agree that short sided games should remain an option for older kids. we tend to gravitate towards the most expensive option, because, well, we can... sometimes kids need something that is simpler and more fun. 11v11 requires that you roster minimum 16 kids for a long season. kids in high school have lots of other commitments. finding 9 or 10 kids would be much easier, less expensive, and for many more fun. most kids are doing this for fun, not to become pros or even play in college.

                    - Many clubs are for profit so no 990s available

                    - Most are smart enough to lump salaries together so you can't see what a typical coach makes. A higher ranking person like a DOC might be listed but not always.

If coaches made so much money why do so many of them hold another nearly full time job on top of coaching?

                      Cmon are you serious?
If you can collect several thousands of dollars a year by spending 2-3 nights a week on your phone outside in the fresh air while kids kick a ball around wouldn't have a full time job in the day to maximize your income??

My other kids university is refunding unused room and board. Yes, you do get refunds for services not provided. That is the right thing to do.

You need to have money to give refunds
