    HS Boys 2018 Fall Season

Who are the top Mass HS teams to look for in 2018? What about top players?

** NOTE: This thread is not a ******* contest of whether HS vs. Private Prep soccer is better, etc. Just keep the discussion to HS boys soccer please. There is a separate thread for Prep soccer. **

    Defending champs from 2017 are:

    D1: Brockton
    D2: Concord-Carlisle
    D3: Nipmuc
    D4: Bromfield

Will there be any repeat champions in 2018?

    Discuss!

    FYI...that might be of interest.

NFHS (and thus MIAA) updated the uniform rule, effective this Fall, such that the AWAY team now wears WHITE jerseys and socks. It used to be the HOME team that had to wear white (or light).

So now the home team can (rightly) wear their school colors on their own grounds (or neutral site playoff games). Plus no issues, for example, if they want to wear an alternate jersey for special occasions.

    About time, huh?

Nauset will be the team to beat again. They’ve been playing all spring/summer together and will not miss the talented seniors, who graduated this year.

It seems Nauset and Oliver Ames are the premier programs in D2 South. Nauset had some really good teams the past few years, and two years ago they were absolutely dominant. The question is how good will they be without McCulley and others who graduated? Oliver Ames made it to the D2 finals last season where they lost to Concord-Carlisle, and also graduated some key players. Who else looks strong this year?

D2 North looks like CC and Masco as early favorites. The rising senior class at CC is loaded and will be looking to repeat as state champs.

When will JM be called to adhere to the rules that every other high school coach follows? He coaches most of his boys’ thru the winter, spring and even into the summer! He recruits any decent player, not living within the Nauset school district and continually abuses MIAA rules.

Honestly stop arguing... no one cares about division 2 where there are only ever 3 good teams. Lets actually talk about the good teams and how division 1 will turn out

Because good players only go to large schools?

Of course good players can go to D2 schools. That doesn’t mean D2 teams have the depth to deal with the strength of schedule in D1. The D2 decent teams coast through the season.

I heard Nauset lost to Scituate at G2G camp a few weeks ago.

.....and the DAP is the only league that counts....?? Your statement is that of a moron. If you only want to talk about D1 then start a thread that is specific to D1.

Watch the trajectory of this thread. The population here will sort things out and D2 will be relegated to the sidelines. It happens every year.
