if you are on the top2, maybe three teams, its worth it for a chance at academy. For the rest, you are wasting your money BIG TIME, and forget about development. Everyone is on a Premier team, sounds great, but if you heard the word green or grey run for the hills.

thank you. what are the fees for academy? Isn't academy supposed to be free for the elite talented players?

$3,000.00 and no they are not. Your son has to be invited to play on the pre-academy or academy teams. Not one second of playing time is guaranteed. Unless your son is honestly the elite, of the elite, do not waste your time. Be honest with your son. If he can play, he can play. So many times parents at Weston and other clubs are not honest with their kids. They live their life through the kid and think their kid is going to play professional. The kid has the best chance to possibly go pro in Weston in this are for boys. Kendall and Boca are not at top level with older teams like Weston is.

Thank you for the info very helpful. I was told that Weston give out scholarship to those Elite players that's why I asked if it was free.

The best club used to be European Soccer Club but now with my son playing for Weston Pre Academy 2002 I think Weston is the best!

Why does Weston FC field so many teams anything after their premier division is just rec players. It is a supply and demand thing or is all about money?

both .. but there's more into that .. have you ever come to Weston tryouts? On U13 this year, about 65 girls showed up, about 53-54 of them already had a place in the club as U12s (4 teams, 2 premier (black and white) and two competitive (grey and green). By the way the two competitive teams we both performed very good at Div II last year, won tournaments and finish at the top of their leagues. This year, the club decide only on 3 teams on this age. About 50 girls were offered a place in the 3 teams (2 premier teams and one competitive) and you can understand that some girls were dropped .. and went ahead to find a place at West Pines, Sunrise and probably Plantation that they never say no the new players - you pay you play
So my point is at least Weston turns down some players and they go around to find a new home .. WP or Sunrise take anybody that is willing to pay!!! There should be some level that differentiates the travel from the rec but there's not. I am sure if you take the select rec team from AYSO Weston can beat most B teams in the area.

Weston put my kid on their B team last yea. He went to play elsewhere. As a starter he beat Weston last year the A and B team. This year he again destroyed Weston 6-1 their top team

But Weston has the best academy but they can't do tryout at young ages

true .. very true .. as a WFC parent for years, the tryouts are a joke .. eventhough there is an upgrade on the interest and work put by the coaches during tryouts still .. picking up talent is not easy and most coaches are not doing a good job .. plus it''s hard for coaches to drop players that they've known the parents for a while ..
