When the kid's of the BOD at the club don't make the High School team

So nice to see the absence of politics at most of the High Schools. Team mgrs kid, starter at club didn't make the cut :)

Pretty sad when you take pleasure in such a thing. I can kinda understand your frustration if a kid gets undeserved special privileges on a club team. But playing high school sports means a lot to a lot of kids and for you to start a thread rejoicing over this shows a lack of character.

Sad for the kid, and parents can only, buy, bully, demand, etc certain privileges for their kids (all of us want the same thing), but the end result will be a kid unprepared to deal with real life issues to earn his/her spot in life….never mind soccer.

Not necessarily. We, like everyone else has one of those team managers whose kid plays every minute of every game only to hurt results. The mom is a right old b_i_t_c_h. But somehow the kid is bright and very well balanced socially and academically. Some kids are embarrassed when their parents pull that crap.

Politics are in HS. Run a background check on the coach's credentials and your morals.

just saying that that BOD members that have the club coach by his balls, have no pull when it comes to their kid making the HS team. Not rejoicing that the kids feel bad, rejoicing blissfully that the team mgrs. VP, President, director of blah blah blah all have smoke coming out of their ears because they are so frustrated. The same guys that walk the sideline at the club encouraging their daughter to SHOOT, and talk crap about the other players.

HS has just as much politics. Just different people.

Don't kid yourself, High School is no different. At least with travel you can change clubs if you don't like it, with High School you are strapped into a school and unless you move, your child can't escape a horrible coach unless they quit the team.

Some friends of ours had that problem too! It stinks when the politics creep inside a little HS soccer!

100% agree. My daughter gave HS 2 years. Bad coach. Inexperienced team...and she was expected to win games with no support. She liked her team but HS soccer was a terrible experience.

Know kids dedicated 2 years to JV and then did not make Varsity as five freshman made did. Not enough for a JV squad now because moved too many under up! Smart, Stupid or Political?
