Non club HS players are padding the school's budgets. So are many club players. Waste of time and money unless you're certain the school is truly interested in you (either prior conversations directly with the coach or via club coach).

1% of CFC or any other premeir club in this state are highly sought after recruits.

High School place just as many players in college, probably more than Academy or premier.
      You are literally clueless.

Aside from probably Albertus Magnus or Eastern CT, there is no recruiting whatsoever that goes on in high school soccer. It’s not football.

For starters, fall is college soccer season. Two matches per week and training 5 days a week. They aren’t coming to local high schools trying to find some unicorn.

We typically have 20+ kids a year from CT go onto D1 programs. All of them are recruited from clubs.

If CCLS handles promotion.relegation properly it will all sort itself out. CJSA is toast
Ironically this was the exact set up in CJSA six or seven years ago.

Correct. Clinics are typically a waste unless you are already on the radar of a coach. They typically group together the kids they are recruiting and ignore everyone else. Unless your kid is a total stud it’s very difficult to get traction at clinics.

Honestly, the CCSL is not for kids with high level soccer aspirations. It’s an organized league which serves the majority of kids in CT. Good competition and reasonable travel.

The top 1% should absolutely go and we play in the ECNL or Academy. Really no need for that expense and travel for the average player.

That's exactly what it is - the bulk of the teams are middle school and younger. by middle school the more talented players have moved (or will shortly) moved to the stronger regional teams. Even players in EDP or NPL have a tough time getting recruited (some will but not entire rosters like with DA or ECNL). Really unless it's a low level D2 or D3 program you need to have club play on your resume. For example Eastern and Western CT - a few HS players but the majority have club.

CCSL has done a pretty good job consolidating a very fractured landscape. CJSA realized it was too late in reviving its state leagues and has now aligned itself with EDP. EDP is a goliath and has many CT teams competing in its top leagues and now has also created a CT only league. The result of this is that you still have CT teams divided into two leagues. Until they all figure out a way to get into the same league it will all be watered down. Remember CCSL is apart of NYCSL which is US CLub. This battle with USYS has been raging for a couple of decades now. This is not new!!!

Or you go in and make the kids that are on the radar look stupid. But you have to deliber in either case ...... Both had to pay to be there.
