Daniel Hand is having an off year. Graduated a deep senior class. Very unorganized this year but have one the most dangerous forwards in the conference. Having seen Cheshire they should have more wins. Very physical and also have a very good attacking player up top. Guilford could be the wild card. Seem to have figured in the home stretch, always good to find your grove late in the season.
The LL schools aren't a huge threat to make noise in the tournament but the L schools could do very well.

Not exactly a complete story there.
Mercy dominated the first half, controlling the midfield center and putting the Shelton backs under pressure. They got only 1 goal out of that.
But the second half was a different story. Shelton had Mercy on their heels nearly the entire half, taking back control of the midfield. Shelton nearly equalized early in the second half, but the outside mid punched to ball right into the Mercy keeper (who had a good game) as she slid in to the ball. Shelton kept pressing and only gave up the second goal in the last 5 minutes because they were pressing to equalize.
These teams are likely to meet for a third time in the SCC championship game. Both teams have won 2-0 on their home fields against each other. It will be a turf game, so will it favor Shelton who plays on turf, or Mercy, who plays on grass?

Who writes this stuff? “They only got one goal out of that.” Only one goal was clearly enough to win it...and yet they got another in a half that Shelton dominated? If you let two goals in AND can’t score, you lose. That’s the complete story coach. Excuses excuses.

Amity, Mercy, Cheshire, Shelton all in the hunt. Way more parody than you realize. Just this week Amity beats Cheshire, Hand beats Amity, Mercy blanks Shelton, Mercy draws with Cheshire. Throw in a dark horse like Guilford that just rallied to win their division after a poor start. I don't see Daniel Hand having enough to make a repeat but never count out a defending champ!
