There are 4 or 5 teams that can win the SCC. Shelton showed they are vulnerable. All about the match ups and who gets hot this week. Mercy bouncing back from a draw with Cheshire to beat Shelton shows that perhaps this is their year

Daniel Hand is having an off year. Graduated a deep senior class. Very unorganized this year but have one the most dangerous forwards in the conference. Having seen Cheshire they should have more wins. Very physical and also have a very good attacking player up top. Guilford could be the wild card. Seem to have figured in the home stretch, always good to find your grove late in the season.

The LL schools aren't a huge threat to make noise in the tournament but the L schools could do very well.
Druggy, dopey dad. Mercy and shelton over rated. Hand kid isn't that kid and doesn't carry team. Guilford is a non threat

So instead of just ripping the above teams, how about give us your pick Daddio. It’s got to be either Amity or Cheshire I assume?

Not exactly a complete story there.

Mercy dominated the first half, controlling the midfield center and putting the Shelton backs under pressure. They got only 1 goal out of that.

But the second half was a different story. Shelton had Mercy on their heels nearly the entire half, taking back control of the midfield. Shelton nearly equalized early in the second half, but the outside mid punched to ball right into the Mercy keeper (who had a good game) as she slid in to the ball. Shelton kept pressing and only gave up the second goal in the last 5 minutes because they were pressing to equalize.

These teams are likely to meet for a third time in the SCC championship game. Both teams have won 2-0 on their home fields against each other. It will be a turf game, so will it favor Shelton who plays on turf, or Mercy, who plays on grass?

Still a loss and in typical Shelton fashion. Year after year they fizzle out in the 2nd half of the season when they replay their first half of their season. Other teams make adjustments while Shelton are incapable of. Nice regular season they have had, but another disappointing post season awaits them.

Shelton sounding like st joes now. Grass field slowed them down and they won the second half. What a joke. Just own the L. I’m sure Shelton will rally and do well in post season, but at the end of the day, they are still from Shelton.

Who writes this stuff? “They only got one goal out of that.” Only one goal was clearly enough to win it...and yet they got another in a half that Shelton dominated? If you let two goals in AND can’t score, you lose. That’s the complete story coach. Excuses excuses.

It will be settled next week in the SCC championship game. The rest of the SCC is god awful with rosters filled with travel players that can’t handle pressure or make quick decisions. Shelton just needs to take care of their business and get to the championship game. I know Mercy will be there.

The great thing about this event or any postseason playoff is that it's very rare for the two top seeded teams to get to the final. Rather than talking trash on behalf of your 16 year kid how about you show up and see what happens.

Amity, Mercy, Cheshire, Shelton all in the hunt. Way more parody than you realize. Just this week Amity beats Cheshire, Hand beats Amity, Mercy blanks Shelton, Mercy draws with Cheshire. Throw in a dark horse like Guilford that just rallied to win their division after a poor start. I don't see Daniel Hand having enough to make a repeat but never count out a defending champ!

THanks FSA Mom. Thankfully you are paying for Catholic school and your kid will get a look at CCSU.

That's exactly what is happening. FSA Mom full of bluster about her kick and run daughter. You know the Mom that tells everyone about how good her daughter is and the kid has the touch of a water buffalo. Good job Mercy/FSA Mom

This is just a dumb post. Amity and Cheshire are decent teams, Guilford and Madison are mediocre teams. The only two teams in this entire conference that are above average are Shelton and Mercy. They have inflated records and rankings because they get to play mediocre teams like Guilford and Hand. I also have to laugh at the mention of a Divisional win. Guilford did not rally. They went winless in September and then picked up two wins against Lyman Hall, one of the worst teams in the state. They have another two wins against lowly East Haven and one against “soccer powerhouse” West Haven. The highlight for them this year is not losing to a weak Daniel Hand this year. Hand lost some quality seniors last year but are going young and will probably be pretty strong again in 1-2 years. Guilford is going the wrong way fast. They won a state championship 5 years ago with the best player in the state and it has fallen each successive year with no end in sight.

Was going to fix it for you, but then I realized that any discussion of quality in that conference must be about “parody.”

I’ll fix it for you... parity.
