More importantly what's in it?

Thorns was just a temporary stop off for many. Girls will likely leave because the restrictive rules are no fun. The games are boring TBH, and no fans. High school activities are much more fun.

It's no surprise they still lost to the B team because it was the OLDER B team. In a few months, the GDA team age groups all move up and the 2003s have to combine with the 2002s instead of being stand alone 2003s like this year. Same as the GDA 2001s currently playing on the 01/02 team will move up to the GDA 00/01 team. It is beneficial for these two teams to play each other for development and for fun. Some of them will end up together on next year's GDA 02/03 team and will play together all the time. GDA is in a unique situation where the age groups shift every year as to what age you combine with so playing across two age groups makes a lot of sense. Unlike OYSA club teams, the Thorns academy and ODP teams are combined at the HS age groups so the players are challenged to compete with & against older players on a daily basis.

Are they scrapping the harsh restrictions on high school activities? I’ve heard rumors but no clarification yet.

Why doesn't the gda have single birth year teams?
2000/01
2002/03
2004
2005
The pyramid gets smaller the older you go. The 2003s were lucky to have a single year team this year. 2002 and older all had to share. The 2003s will survive just like the 2002s and up did.

They won't even scrimmage anyone in fear of how bad they are because of players leaving . The only reason why they are combine is because the quality of the program isn't there and your program needs body's.
