- don’t fly kids 1000 miles to play one game against another mediocre team when they would lose to 3-5 teams 30 miles away.
- don’t advertise that you are a pathway to pros when you know that’s bs
- don’t take credit for college placements with kids who joined up the final year and were already committed or had their visits to said schools.
- don’t use the same ol crappy coaches or coaches who weee brought on for appearance.
- don’t demand players from alliance clubs when you can’t do a good job with the players you have. There has been so much turnover and kids who quit after being sold on a bs after they leave their clubs To be underdeveloped.
- don’t claim you are only getting the best when you aren’t even getting the top 5-9 on most teams.
That’s a start

Pick the most elite high caliber players possible from what the clubs offer up
Train the heck out of them
Continue to blend the most elite into the NWSL Thorns training and future plans
Continue to fund this incredible opportunity! for best of the best
Make Oregon and Portland Proud with these incredible youth academy squads

I think most clubs aren’t recommending the thorns any more.
If they opened up high school soccer I think they would do much better at getting better players.

This is exactly what the local club coaches need to do ensure the Thorns are the destination and shining star youth Academy in Oregon. The HS ban has nothing to do with the Thorns it's a US Soccer Directive/Mandate.

Actually all the clubs are proud when one of their own make the Timbers or Thorns DA.
Every DOC remarks this is badge of honor for the club.

They are more then welcome to start their own thing but a mandate from a company with the US logo doesn’t mean much when there isn’t any follow through or benefit for both groups and whats best for the players.
It’s really cool they were able to cut costs down if they don’t have to pay for individual travel but this idea that they are doing it better by default because of association or name lure is a joke.
Another positive is that they are helping to laugh at the clubs who previously ran on this type of bs. Fc Portland and cu are struggling a bit to keep this Ecnl thing going and it got worse after the purge of majority of the better teams in that league.

US Soccer is the National Team and governing body.
Maybe you don't agree with the laws of the land handed down at the federal level President, Congress and Senate.
Regardless its the law of the land until they change it.
You are welcome to leave the country and find refugee elsewhere nobody is stopping you.
or Run for a leadership position in US Soccer and see if your vision has any support.
