No, your kid is not special. DA is not special. You just have the $$$ to pay DA fees and live close to a club. That's it.

Coaching is a big issue too. It’s just not in the culture here and there are very very few coaches who can develop players to play at the highest level. Same retreads they were in ECNL now coach DA. Jobs get passed around left and right.

The only kids not paying in DA are the boys who can make an mls club, or the few superstuds in GDA. Problem is the leagues need the thousands of other paying customers to make both leagues work. Those are the people who you to sell on the value of doing DA vs something else. USSF can't seem to understand that basic business concept.

Even in BDA a recent examination showed many coaches did not have their required licensure after years of BDA being around. At least the MLS clubs have more professional coaches. The girls side has almost no pro tam involvement. Of course, licensure is not guarantee of quality either. With or without there aren't enough quality coaches to go around

mls club works because all the players are funded. when only one or two on the team are funded, it just builds resentment that you are busting your butt to pay your kids way while another gets a free ride. Not a recipe for a happy team.

I dont think your post makes sense. A super exclusionary GDA league that excludes players without all that money and travel time available will allow us to find and develop our female talent? Hogwash. Best player could be sitting next to the best GGA club and in the country and not be able to access it.

I think we are actually saying the same thing. GDA isn’t in place to find and develop talent.
