There is only one group that has such a vested interest in these parts.
Tell that to anyone who has their kid in DA. 90% of the interest comes there as coaches can compare players rather than rely on TS for daddy or clubs to talk about how great their kids are.

But not a single poster suggested going to showcase events as a way to be discovered.

The other poster was right, you are a crank, who always has to make it about you and your twisted views. You didn't address the OP's question (again).

In fact, isn't this your pet scenario? A non NT player, who doesn't play club, but who wants to play in college. You are always telling families this is the path they should take. How come no useful advice for them, oh Negative One?

Same vested interest that is on this site promoting showcase events is the same vested interest that is on this site constantly attacking the DA. The connection is quite obvious.

Funny how when an anonymous poster asks for information immediately they are so thankful for getting really simplistic advice and but then completely ignores a link that gives about as much information as you could ask for about recruiting. Just one of the things that makes you go hmmm about this site.

Every club has the same sort of presentation. NEFC posts here, but if you look at the other link, they aren't doing so well on the boys side. GPS is doing much better. Fact.

Thought OP was asking for information about recruiting not whose teams are better. I'd be really interested to see what some of those other clubs have published on the subject. After all, isn't more better?

Bingo. Just the FCB hacks protecting their fading turf.

If you're referencing the nefc link, I only just got back to the thread. There looks to be some great information there so thank you to whoever shared it.

What did you learn about recruiting then?

NEFC seem to use a 'college recruiting website' (https://www.thesportsource.com/), along with GPS and others.

Other websites claim that college coaches use them too (http://home.gotsport.com/clubsite/?p=2776) and others offer free profiles (https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/)

I have no idea if college coaches actually use any of these sites, or if they do to what extent. Either way, they seem to be additional paths to getting on a college coach's radar.

The rest of the information on the website may be useful for our players, but not much more that we/I can offer as a club/coach.

But hey, feel free to add/correct, I'm only looking to learn.

If anyone is interested, I found this thread that is very interesting - http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/...soccer-p1.html

From that, what I/we can do as a club seems to be:

                        - Help players through the process
                        - Liaise with college coaches on players behalf
                        - Give honest appraisals on abilities
                        - Consider recording games to provide players with tape
                        - Give information on relevant camps/clinics
                        - Look for tournament opportunities where coaches will be in attendance
                        - Look for guest-play opportunities for players
                        - Network with colleges
                        - Support players who want to make a transition to DA/ECNL

So much for every club having something similar to what NEFC published

Just because there isn't something available on line doesn't mean other clubs don't help players or do it better, or worse. Leave it to TS posters to turn a question into a club pi**ing contest

The most important thing a club can do for a player and their family is be frankly honest with them. They should sit players down when they are finishing their U12 and U14 years and explain to them what they see their current trajectory to be. That piece of information is the single most important thing to know when it comes to recruiting. That gives the player and family what they need to know to make decisions about whether or not to put a lot of energy into soccer and which level soccer programs to target. The problem is most clubs won't do it and when they do many parents won't believe them.

Op was asking for information. If clubs don't make it public what good is it for someone outside that club looking to educate themselves?
