    Stovie Stars

Heard a new option called Stovies Stars is in Southwest Florida from Naples to Cape Coral. Any informative thoughts?

Stovie Stars is a money grab by a group of ill informed trainers.

Their new "club" does not have FYSA approval. So they can only play in some tournaments. No league play, no regional play, just tournaments that allow non-FYSA teams.

    Don't do it.

The FYSA leagues and region play is considered by some or perhaps most as recreational level of play. Serious players do Academy. What is the practice schedule like?

Is this upstart now an academy? Everybody thinks they are an academy now.

Yes, DA or you should force your kid into retirement.

          Simple as that.

They are affiliated with Bonita so have full FYSA access. Whatever that might be worth these days. For the truly ill informed you should know that you do not need FYSA or US Club affiliation to play in most tournaments. There are other options to ensure access for all.

You have no idea what you are talking about. It's a training program that has been around for many years. They offer private training, a summer training program and camps. They also do summer 3v3 and futsal programs. Stovi coached at GPS the last few years and now he has a team at Bonita. Maybe one day he will have his own club but not now.

Everyone should sign up. It's only $3k plus whatever other fees can be fleeced from the unwitting.

Yes, pretty similar programs from what I've heard. I think both programs are great for SWFL.

                      Why did he leave GPS?

Maybe both along with any other so called academy startup should have a group hug, for a fee of course.

                          I don't know and I don't want to speculate.

Why did half of the older boys leave to join him?

Maybe they were looking for a coach that does not have sufficient licenses to coach at the highest levels and must have a chaperone for those events? or possibly they were seeking a track record of declining results across multiple teams year over year? or perhaps they were simply just looking for the right situation where they could finally be at wits' end to close a season?
