A walk-on at FSU or UF could be worth more in the long run than a full ride at a lower D1.

If your your player has reasonably good grades the sweet spot is private, D1 schools with good soccer programs. They can put together a "package" of aid that includes athletic aid, academic aid, need based aid, "gifts" (from endowments), etc. to get the total cost of attendance down from $65,000 down to about $10,000. High quality education and soccer at some great colleges.
