Heard they've got a dead horse up at Progin Park, so when you're all through beating this one, you could always go by there and take a few more whacks.

        Exactly, he will never stop.

Henceforth, BTNT will be known as Dead Horse Whipper.

Agree. Let's go back to the present topic. With the flux of all best players going to Stars, why aren't they still the powerhouse? The recent results proved it ==> This horse is alive and kicking.

NEFC, like Stars, has some very good teams and coaches. What's the problem--except in the small mind of one bitter, over-involved, underemployed parent?

Families stay where they're satisfied and explore other options when they're not. Which club was, is, or might be a "powerhouse" is hardly a concern for ordinary parents focused on the soccer and education prospects of their own kids.

Nice rationale. Then why this incessant preaching of the flock heading towards Stars year after year?

The only incessant preaching is the Dead Horse Whipper continually posting and starting new threads about Stars every day. He has made Stars the #1 topic on TS by a landslide.

Incessant preaching? Do you have no sense of yourself and your actions here at all? You complain and point fingers but yet you are here constantly making a point that cuts in the opposite direction. All of this comes down to why anyone such as yourself feels they have some privileged status her on TS that enables you to criticize (never mind that your criticisms are often incorrectly focused) and not expect reciprocity?

Uh, my D's Stars teams win. They also lose, but less often. She came to Stars from another 'powerhouse' club. In the time she has been there, her technical skills have grown by leaps and bounds. Are we always happy ? No way. The club certainly has it's issues, many of which have been talked about here on TS. But then, so did the club we came from. You have to decide if the good outweighs the bad. We reevaluate every year. The number one question-Is she happy? Number two-can our family handle the club soccer scene at the level of a Stars top girls' team? Soon, we'll be asking, should she give up HS soccer? (I vote, no, hubby-yes, D will ultimately have the biggest say)

So tired of hearing all of the Stars crap on this site. Every club has it's issues. NEFC is no sainted place, believe me. Parents at both places are equal, IMHO. Each side thinks their kid is the next Mia. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything.

Then don't offer a pro-stars opinion if you don't want to hear any rebuttal. Ever consider that many out here don't want to hear your pro-stars "crap"?

Agree with the sentiment that all clubs have their issues. My 2 cents worth. All the inter-club stuff is foolish because the club actually means next to nothing in all of this for the simple reason that if your kid has the talent and is self motivated they will achieve in spite of their surroundings and if they don't have the talent and/or are not self motivated their surroundings are not going magically transform into something they really aren't. Your kid either has the talent and is willing to work to maximize it or not. If they don't, nothing is going to push them to a place their abilities aren't a fit for but if they do you can rest assured all of these clubs will find a way to train it an put it to use. The choice really boils down to the interpersonal stuff more than anything. Do you trust the people coaching your kid and do you believe that they are putting your child's best interests in front of theirs? There is no one size fits all answer.
