kings fc lost 9-0 to nefc last year at U13G. The best part was that kings parents came on the site and talked trash prior to the game and afterwords had lame excuses on why they lost. Apparently they would've won if it was 2 out of 3 games :)
If you're happy in kings/abbey villa mapleland, just stay there. Younger ages anyone including town maple teams can be stronger, but by u13 and up generally speaking the strongest players have formed onto the strongest clubs, NEFC, Stars, SSS, etc. By U15 it not even a contest.
SSS has teams playing 2 years older in top maple divisions and is still winning, they should just play in a league that is actually competitive.

Very funny how NEP parents are so insecure that they feel the need to bash everyone else. People only bash who is relevant. The truth is the best teams in maple can beat the beat teams in NEP and vice versa...its not a coincidence that NEP clubs that run tournaments put the maple clubs in lower brackets, they avoid playing them at all costs so the worst kept secret isn't released, NEP has terrible teams, MAPLE has terrible teams. NEP has good teams, MAPLE has good teams. As for the 9-0 loss, not sure what the circumstances were however that is not one of kings fc stronger teams, if you check maple website that team is in D3, the gu10-12 teams are all in maple blue as are bu10-11...seems to be a club on the rise. But all that being said, let the bashing continue

-- A club on the rise means to me that they are gaining size while at the same time getting more competitive. Kings FC, at least on the girls side, is on the rise.
I would say Valeo is also on the rise.
Where the Kings FC (as well as Valeo) will be in 5 years is anyone's guess. Will they merge? Will they crash and burn? Will they continue to grow at their present rate?
All good questions that only time will tell.

The question i have with these "clubs on the rise" is what happens if they do ? People often join smaller, up and coming clubs to avoid some of the pitfalls they see with larger clubs. But as these smaller clubs grow, the quality of coaching can get watered down as the core of coaches have to manage more teams, the methods can get diluted and they can end up getting eventually bought out by one of the big machines and everything changes and they become something other than what you initially signed up for. Being big and having scale can bring a lot of positives but only if handled correctly and the leadership is in place to maintain what made them good in the first place. Just an opinion.

I'm so tired of all this watered down discussion, don't you know watered down is a physical impossibility. :)
