IMO if the US national team wants to have future success and stay on par with the Asian countries they need a drastic change. My recommendation would be to employ a European based coach from Spain, Portugal, Italy, France or Germany. Enough of the Scandinavian and British coaches. Follow suit with what the mens side is doing change staff top to bottom. Restart the recruiting process and build from the ground up. Same faces every year and a lot of politics behind all the selections. You could literally find a European coach with zero ties to USA and no political influence. You would probably have to steal him from the mens side and you would definitely have to over pay him. But in the end it would be well worth it.
    No yelling. Just some questions.
Who in your opinion is the candidate most capable of "staying on par with the asian countries"?
Should it not be an Asian?
On what would your recommendations be based? That they are from "Spain, Portugal, Italy, France or Germany"? Should they have a footballing background?
    What positions played are preferable?
Should they be tall, short, fat, bearded, bald, gay, lesbian ( lots of choices )?
Is Klinsmann doing that better a job?
Recruit from where? Spain, Portugal, Italy, France or Germany?
No politics involved in "stealing him from the men's side"? Hmmmm.

Thinking that everyone but us have all of the answers for dealing with American female athletes is similarly fairly simple minded. Most of those countries look at their women athletes as more second class citizens than their cream of the crop. How is anyone from that sort of environment going to be the answer?

It is soccer-it is played the same way around the world. We just happen to suck at it, despite millions being spent by everyone from mom and dad to the top flight.
Keep writing cheques folks, we'll get there.
          LOL.

Glad to see you are making this a social issue . Way to deflect attention from the actual problem. Have you lived in any of those countries?

Using your logic - have you ever played or coached on a National Team? If not, then you cannot have an opinion that is at all meaningful to the discussion and you should just go away.
