They were a premier team in Reg 1 last year and for all the years before that and had moderate success. They put a DAP label on this year and have very competitive teams with their regional division right now. In fact their U16 team leads their rival in Conn. and both Mass. teams. How does this pro DAP guy square that away? Former premier kids now playing and beating established DAP teams? Impossible? Of course not. What's obvious and very possible is that their are multiple other DAP quality players on the Stars, GPS, W.United, Scorps, etc that choose not to play DAP. That is simply the fact whether the kool aid drinker wants to believe or not.
Did the roster stay the same? Any change in coaching? Did the training stay the same?

Only about 1/2 of the roster are old Beachside players. The rest are from South Central (already in DAP but a weak DAP team) and various other sources. Field location also moved about 20 miles north up the coast, so more centrally located in CT.

Correction: 3/4 of players are from Beachside premier and other premier clubs. Coaches are mostly former BS coaches, they play at U of Bridgeport and they practice 3-4 times a week with game on weekends.

So mostly a premier team who is beating OW in their own state and ahead of both the Revs and Bolts in the U16 team.

And Beachside didn't even win the state cup last year at this age group. Another premier club called FSA did. Just goes to show you that there are plenty of excellent non-dap players out there in the premier ranks.

Can't it depend on who they picked up? The team could have picked up an impact player and that would make a world of difference.

One of the players they picked up is a former Red Bull, and I imagine he's helped the cause to a good degree.

                From T-S CT:

Although I have no doubt that FSA and CFC could also become successful DAP clubs, several factors have helped BSC make a smooth transition into DAP:

                1. Beachside consistently has had teams across age groups that have fared well in R1.

                2. Beachside's style of play is similar to that advocated in the DAP.

                3. Beachside's players were ready for the level of commitment required of DAP players (having trained 3 times/week for years).

                4. In combining with South Central (the SC in BSC), Beachside did not have to go it alone and start fresh in the DAP, benefiting from a handful of SCP players, coaches, and administrators who knew the ropes of DAP.

                  U17B Blazers vs GPS.
                  Any predictions?
Both were top of their brackets but tough to compare given the varied level of competition.
