    Hingham

They are very talented but here not worth discussing. Their coach has had more talent in the last 20 years than any high school coach could hope for and has never won. The closest he has gotten was with the LEAST talent. Which shows that he doesn't foster a team that knows how to play together

Norwell has tons of good chemistry and Braintree can't best them

The criticism is fair. Through the past few years there have been attitude problems with this program. I am not sure the talent has been as great as some say, but it is clear that expctations are consistently not met. Player infighting, multiple suspensions for underage drinking, etc all point to a lack of leadership and respect

KP beat Mansfield (Hock teams) in the final. Where did Norton place? Yes, summer league, I know...just curious.

A lot of talk coming from the South this year. Seems a little quiet up North. Maybe the usual suspects aren't as strong in years past.

If only they played 6v6 all season.

Before that, most recent was Needham in 2013 (Wellesley had just 1 loss that year in the league, to Needham)
In 2012, both Needham and Weymouth had just 1 loss (to Wellesley and Needham, respectively?)

Maybe it's in the BSC thread, but there are several who don't think they have a lot left. The reason some are highly ranking them appears to be either because they've been good in recent years, or just about every other team does not having a convincing level of returning players either. Brockton and Braintree are reportedly the only teams with a good deal of quality returning.

Yet we still have readers attaching significance to this. Don't. Unless you've been to the games, recognise the players well enough to say whether the prospective varsity was playing or not, and how much, there is no basis to say that this indicates anything. Some kids are playing club through July, some have jobs, families take vacations, teams vary in what players are invited to participate and how they distribute playing time. There are so many reasons why a result in summer league cannot be interpreted from afar.

I'd like to know who they lost last year and what they have returning for players? I'd like to know the same about Brockton, Weymouth, and Needham. We lost a lot at Wellesley this past season.
Check the BSC thread as there might be a note about a couple of these teams. Last year's thread might as well. Brockton was a deserving South champion last year, and with the size of their student body (2000 boys), they should be a contender every year. The word about Braintree was that only 1-2 main contributors from last year graduated, which is why they are a consensus contender. They can overcome the questions about their scheduling, substituting in waves, etc. Weymouth was a .500 team in the league last year, so it's unlikely that group will become a top team in the span of 1 year. But with Needham and Brookline off, they could improve by 2-3 wins and finish as high as second in their league. Needham was dependent on their fast forward, and also had very good seniors at center back and a couple of other spots. With them graduating, opinion is that they will be off from recent form, but perhaps battling with Framingham and Weymouth in the league table.

I think there are many obstacles that will prevent Braintree from running the table. Too many good teams.

Like a party culture and 2 head cases on the back line eventually being suspended? They are one social media mistake away from finishing 5th.

Braintree doesn't make social media mistakes.

Incoming talent is too young to impact this season but look for it to come to fruition in the next 2-3 years. Weymouth will be solid this year but probably just outside being a D1 south contender. could they make a run at it? absolutely and that could all be determined by the seeding and which half of the bracket teams fall in but they'll end up with around 10-12 wins this year which is an improvement over the past 3 years. There a comfortable tournament team which the expectation of a Quarterfinal or Semifinal appearance if they can go on a run.
As one of the biggest schools in d1 south, weymouth's aim should be at least reaching south semis. That should be their average. improving by a couple wins, making the tourney, and going out by the south quarters would be improvement, but still subpar for them. A couple of d2/d3-level players is not enough to be a contender, at least in most years.
