That's great, but as freshmen, they will have to make the team in order to have any impact. Some people get so far out ahead of themselves on this site.

Whoa, take it easy there Nobles tiger mom. The ISL can be kind of a rough and tumble place for freshmen, depending on where their bodies are developmentally. The 17 and 18 year old juniors and seniors they'll be facing are much bigger and stronger than your 14 and 15 year olds, so your darling daughters had better be as tough as they are skilled, because they'll definitely be eating some dirt from time to time.

Exactly. Great post. Wide-eyed and bushy-tailed 14 & 15 year olds will get a soccer lesson from the olders on any pitch. You have to be a truly exceptional 9th grader to ball with the seniors on a decent squad. Skills, touch, vision and physical development all have to be crazy good on a 9th grader in order to compete for a starting spot. You may be ECNL, but there are 12th grade ECNL players out there as well. Mine's one of them. Left Coast out...

Depends on if Rivers can reload. You lost an excellent keeper, some of your back line and a top scoring threat. 7 seniors were on that team. Nobles apparently has crazy ECNL freshmen that will shame any senior in the league (according to their moms). Groton returns two of the top three ISL scoring leaders and returns the bulk of their starting rotation. Fear the Zebra. I'm looking for Groton to be very competitive. And no - LOL - I am not a NEFC parent. Had to look them up. I'm used to California soccer. Nice forum, and I look forward to lively discussion once season starts. Ciao.

leicester city's season is a great example of what's to come.

Ummm...okay. So one of the historically low tier teams will rise up and capture the prize? And they will play a defense-minded style - low on possession & inept on connecting passes and stringing them together. Very efficient scoring on the counter attack; catching their opponents off guard with direct play over the top. And they will have great spirit and pizza parties galore (straight from a Premier League magazine - coach said both of these helped Leicester tremendously). Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a good underdog story with a fairy tale ending. Don't think Cinderella is going to the Ball this league season. Unless Leicester is using our league season for scrimmages.

In the extremely unlikely event that Nobles loses the rivalry game, let's hope some of their parents don't yell at their kids in the parking lot again--though it would indeed be very embarrassing after some of those parents were on TS talking trash the season after Nobles got thrashed and Rivers won double banners.
